June 1 A former president of •the Seaforth 'Branch 156, Royal Canadian Legion, was presented with the Legion's highest honor when Jack Eisler was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. The award recognized the con- tribution which Mr. Eisler had made to minor sports. Ron Eyre has been elected president of group 15A, Huron and Perth Men Teachers. ' June 29 Mrs. David Ryan 'celebrated her 90th birthday. Her hobby is ,her rose garden and she and' her busband keep a vegetable garden.. Seaforth paid tribute to mem- bers of the Seaforth Beavers who were three times hockey champions. Among those at- tending were Russell Hays', Reg Reid and Joe Sills.
