forth, said the committee had
authorized receipt .of applica-
ti8ns for ti positions at Dur-
on County Jail in Goderich and
these will ,be dealt with in the
near future.
He stated that the Property
Committee is negotiating with
'the Childien's Aid Society for
various renovations in connec-
tion with the jail residence. It
is hoped that the majority of
the renovations, can be. coin-
pleted by the year end in time

within the County Court House.
Negotiations will be conducted
with the Women's Institute to
determine the feasibility of op-

Huron 'TB
Purchases
New Pump
The Huron County TB Assoc-
iation has purchased a Compres-
sor Pump for treatment of per-
sons suffering from chronic pul-
monary disease"in the County:
One of the' advances in the
treatntent of chronic pulmonary
disease particularly pulmonary
emphysema, is the establishment
of inhalation therapy as an im-
portant part of treatment.
Pulmonary emphysema is a
disease of the lungs character=
ized by chronic infeetion of the
lungs, ;persistent shortness of
breath and loss of elasticity of
lung tissue. The pump donated=
consists of a face mask which
carries medication in a fine
mist to the lungs with air pres-
sure " being. supplied - by the
pump itself. The new pump will
be used in Wingiiam immediate-
ly and then will be located in
Clinton Hospital and will be
loaned, free of charge, to pat-
ients whose physician has press
cribed this type of therapy.
One to • Iwo weeks treatment
with a pump will stabilize a
patients condition for a•lengthy
period of time. Two treatments
per day, of 15 minutes each
would be taken by the person
during this time The equipment
is'simple, rugged, with sealed
lubrication and no fire danger.
The unit has twin" nebulizers t9
produce the medicated mist
which cuts down on clogging
and makes the machine more ef-
fective.
Officials pointed nut that
funds from the Christmas Seal,
Campaign paid for the equip-
ment, and pointed out that the
Huron County •TB ,Association
fights TB. and All Respiratory
Disease the year 'round.'
