The French version of

:`Les Guignoleurs" of
early Quebec had a very
different method of attain-
ing
ttaining their goal. Arriving at
the homes .of the villagers,
they sang a song that ask-
ed for a contribution or
threatened the abduction of
the eldest daughter of the
household.

County
Studies
Need
Following a lengthy- discus-
sion, Huron County Council in
the Court House.. at Goderich,
Tuesday afternoon, decided to
continue the study of the need
of County Planning "in 'order
that the committee • in charge
might place before County
Council early in 1968, ..such rec-
omtnendations as deemed ad-
visable."
It will be recalled that the
matter of County , Planning was
Council. at'the October Session.
when a report ' by Dryden and
Smith, pl'aniting consultants, of
Kitchener,, was placed before
CCouncil with recommendations.
This prel,iminary -report called
"Appraisal for a Planning Pro-
gram,for the County of Huron",
had been procurred at a cost
of $550.
Suibsequently, a meeting was
held in the Court House, Gode-
rich, on - October 10, when tlto
matter Was further discussed by
some members of County Coun-
cil.
Calvin Krauter, Brussels, chair
man of the . Industrial and
Tourism committee, called the
Meeting which was' attended by
E. A. Gomme',' head . Of' the ad-
ministration .division, communi-
ty planning branch, Ontario De-
partment of Municipal Affairs
and D. R. Snider, chairman of
the Waterloo Planning )3oard.
A girl was asking her friend.
about her new boy friend.
"What does he look like?" she
as1Ced_ "Does he have a mus-
tache?"
The other girl thought a Mom-
ent and said, '"I can't say for
sure, because if he dogs, he

,Aiding the Needy
Originally, food and
clothing as well as money
was collected. But for the
post twenty years it has
been only money, and the
generous people of .Quebec
have 'contributed as much
as $30,000 for, the ' poor.•
The money is deposited
in a bank, and checks are
issued to the parish priests
of the city, who use the
money to aid -all the needy,
regardless of religious de-
nomination.
