Mrs. M. Lamond, Mrs. ,Calder
McKaig and Mrs. M. Dow at-
tended the sectional meeting of
Stratford Presbyterial at At-
wood.
Thanksgiving was the theme
of the November. meeting of
the Women's Missionary Soci-
ety. The president Mrs. M. Lam-
ont presided opening with a
suitable ,poem. Scripture lesson
from Ephesians 4: 1.16 was read
in unison and Mrs. Lamond ledi
a meditationand Mrs. W. Har-
per, led in Payer. Routine re-
ports were given by the secre-
tary and the treasurer. Mrs. T.
L. Scott presented the study
book lesson and also gave a
brief report of the Presbyterial
-executive meeting. Mrs. Lam-
ond gave a report, of, the sec-
tional meeting at Atwood.
Prayer for missionaries was
led by Mrs. M. Dow. Miss Olive.
Speare-•gave a reading "As- you
go through Life". A trio „con-
sisting of Mrs•. Cliff -Miller, Mrs.
Chas. Douglas and Mrs. Gerald
Carey favored with a ,number
, Mrs. Paddington of Stratford
was the ,guest speaker using
"Prayer" as the theme of her
address.' As Literature secretary
she had a large assortment of
books on display.
Mrs. Lamond closed the
meeting with prayer. Lunch was
served with Mrs. T. Laing and
Mrs. J. Jefferson as conveners.

in Walton Hall, Saturday eve-
ning.
After a few hours of dancing
the couple were called to the
platform when an address was
read by Alex Gulutzen and a
purse of money presented by
Stewart McCall.

Landsborough.
In the absencemof G. A. Whit-
ney, the Whitney award was
presented to Margaret Elligsen
by the chairman. The C. M.
Smith award went to Joanne El-
ligsen and was presented by A.
Dobson of the staff in the ab-
sence of C. A. Barber.
- • The students' council citizen-
ship award 'was -presented to
Bryan .Stewart by, Susan Leon-
hardt, vice-president- of fhe
council. Mrs. Orville Oke, presi-
dent of the Women's Hospital
Auxiliary, presented a bursary,
to Joyce Harriston and Mrs. C:
Coombs, president of the Legion
Auxiliary presented the Auxil-
iary award to Brenda Flannery.
William Dalrymple, Legion 'vice-
president, presented the Legion
award, to Paul Spittal.
The Lord Strathcona Trust
efficiency award was received
by Cadet Maj. Murray Hulley
on behalf of the cadet corps
which had been the best in 15
area schools. Capt. D. J. Read of
London, .made the presentation.
Miss Ann Hanson presented
the R. S. Box award to Barbara
Chesney- and Mrs. Helen Alex-
ander the Irvin's Hardware
award to Don Landsborough..
- The Lois Scott Memorial Bi-
ology prize which was won by
Eric Ross was presented by Miss
Nan Taylor and the Larone Bur-
saries won by Agnes Polland
and Jack Van denHengei, were
presented by Mr. Larone.
Mr. Pitimsteel referred to a
new award, the Mary Plumb
Memorial Trophy presented by,
Miss Wiler in memory of a stu-
dent „who.. was the victim of an
accident last summer. It was
won by Sheila Dietz.
The valedictory address was
given by Donald Landsborough.
. In concluding the proceedings,
Mr. Plumsteel extended every
good wish to the graduating
classes. He coupled his good
wishes with a plea for self dis-
cipline.

Bridge in
Hullet.•
Hullett Township reeve, Hugh
Flynn officially opened the new%
$60,000 bridge on the Lime Kiln
sideroad, three miles east of
Auburn on Thursday afternoon
at 3 p.m, •
This new bridge over the
Blyth creek on sideroads 36 and
36 is of concrete and plans were
drawn up by Burns Ross and As-
sociates of -Goderich• The con--
structidn company was the Ow-
en King Construction Company
of Walkerton. The road was
wedened and the curve elimin-
ated and also the creek bed
lowered from the bridge .on
County Road 25 to this new site.
The building of thee -fridge
was under three reeves, Tom
Leiper, Clare Vincent and now
Hugh Flynn. It was started when
Len Caldwell was road superin-
tendent. George Hoggart is now
Hullett Township road superin-
tendent. -

Hugh Flynn were the Township
Councillors: Leonard Archam-
bault, Donald Buchanan, Char-
les Scanlon and Joseph -Hun-
king. Also George Hoggart, Leo-
nard Caldwell, George Carter,
Assessor and Kenneth Dunn, re-
presenting Burns Ross and As
sociates and Township Clerk,
Clare Vincent, • former Town-
ship Clerk, Harry Tebbutt and
Ross Hamilton of Stratford rep-
resenting the Department • of
Highways. •
Following the cutting . of the -
ribbon, all went to the Clinton
Hotel for a dinner.
Enter Three Teams,
In W:O.A.A: ue
The S$aforth Minor Hockey
,Association at a meeting Tues-
day night, decided to enter
three teams in the WOAA Hock-
ey League for the coming sea-
son. As in- previous years, ban-
tams, midgets, and, juveniles
will represent Seaforth.
Under a new,regulation of the
league, Seaforth has dropped
from a class B to a C team. The
change raised the population of
class B teams from 2,250 to
3,000.
Named. for • coal king chores
of the teams were .Art Strong,
Jack Muir and Jack Price., Jaok
Ungarian, Gorden Pringle and
Jim Scott will; manage them.
Gordon Pringle was also named
referee -in -chief • and will be
charged with supplying referees
for all the home town; games,
Funds to. operate for the
year will be obtained from the,
sale of booster, tickets which
will be available immediately.
Unlike previous years, boys will
not be obligated to sell any
specific number of tickets in
order to • ay. Seaforth Teen

,started, practices have been
called for .Monday night at -the
local arena with the bantams
beginning at 6:00 o'clock. The
midgets and juveniles will fol-
low respectively at 7:00 and
8:00 o'clock.
Harry Scott was returned for
another term as president -and
Jim Scott succeeds Bill Rober=
ton as secretary -treasurer.
