The sleeves and skirt were en-

which__ fell gracefully from the
shoulders. To. complete her
bridal outfit -the bride .wore a
,Frenclr .illusion finger tip veil
-caught up _by a erosettq head-
piece. She carried a cascade of
red roses and stephanotis- with
white streamers -> •

Corte niece of the bridegroom
was flowergirl, dressed in a
white taffeta dress and match-
ing headpiece and carried flow-
ers similar to the bridesmaids.
. The groomsman was Mr. An-
thony Van Bakel, brother Of
the bridegroom. Jack Flanagan,
Guelph, brother of the bride,
and Martin Van Bake], kitch-
ener, brother of the groom,
were ushers.
A reception was held in the

Chapter
initiates
Seaforth Chapter No..233, Or-
der of the Eastern Star, held a
special meeting Thursday eve-
ning in the IOOF Hall for the
purpose of initiation, with Mis-
tress Elmer Townsend, Wor-
thy Matron and Elmer Town
send, Worthy Patron, presiding
in the, east Blue Water Chap-
ter No. 284 of Goderich, put
on the opening thrill and St.
Marys -Chapter No. 121, put on
the closing drill. The draw on
the basket of groceries was won
by David McLean and lunch was
served convened. by Mrs. Adin
Forbes.
Brodhagen Community Centre
where the bride's .mother re-
ceived the guests in a jade lace
dress and green accessories and
a corsage of feathered carnation
and pumpkin pours. The bride-
groom's mother wore a brown
and green suit-4nd a- corsage of
white gardinia and feathered
carnations.
For travelling to Northern
Ontario,. the' bride changed to
a brown suit with gold acces-
corsage.
On their return the couple
will reside on the bridegroom's
farm,, RR 1, Dublin.
The bride is a graduate of
Stratford Teacher's College and
is on the staff at St. James'
School, Seaforth. •`
Guests were present from
Dorchester, Strathroy, London,
Guelph, Hamilton; Kitchener,
Stratford and surrounding 'dis-
trict.
Prior to her marriage the
bride was entertained at sev-
eral showers given be -Patsy
MeladV, Pat McLaughlin, Elaine
Murray, Eileen Maloney, Mrs.
J Malloy, Mrs. Jerry O'Brien,
and Mrs. T. ,Showier.

Fifth Birthday'
Seaforth Legion Hall was the
scene of a birthday recently
when members and guests' of
the Father Stephen 11ckert
Council of the Knights of Col-
umbus, Seaforth and district,
xraarked the fifth anniversary of
the reception by the council of
its charter. Approximately 160
attended the banquet and
dance.
Grand Knight, Alvin Rau, was
chairman and following the
opening of the banquet with
Grace by Rev. Arthur Looby, a
toast to the Queen was propos-
ed by the Grand Knight.

Following a short address of
welcome • by the 'Grand Knight,
District Deputy Cecil Tufts ex-
tended greetings, and congratu-
lations on behalf of the State
Board to the executive and
members of the council. He
pointed out many of the achieve-
ments of the council including
an increase in Membership
from 60 to approximately 180
members today. A more recent
achievement was' the purchase
of a new hall. He commented
on changes being made- to in-
clude the ladies at certain pro-.
ceedings of the Council and, re-
ferred to a story in the October
issue of Columbia in which it
r,eferred to the good will meet -

ladies of the Legion Aqxiliary,
who catered for the banquet.

and his orchestra. The banquet
and dance was arranged by
John Paul Rau, six -point "pro-
gram chairman and his com-
mittee.
