Volleybaii:
Things in the volleyball world
of Seaforth High are really
starting to roll. Both the girls'
junior ands Senior teams have
had a few rigorous practices,
once again under the energetic
coaching of Miss Weiler.
Junior:•
Barbara Bryans is captain of
the junior team, which has a
membership.of twelve girls, Sev-
eral of the girls have never
played on -a team before, and
so, lack the experience of most
oftheir opponents. Consequently
the results of the exhibition
games played in Clinton on
Thursday were not in the jun-
iors' favour, butthe experience
was certainly valuable for the
girls who, at least, deserve an
'E' for effort, for putting •up a
good show on behalf of the
school. Remember, girls, they
were only exhibition games! Let
your immediate ` aim now be to
win the Huron Junior Volleyball
Tournament, to be .held. on Oc-
tober 31, in Goderioh.
Senior:
Our strong and experienced sen-
ior team cpnsists of twelve live-
ly lassies, who should spark the
seniors to triumph. The two
captains are Angela Devereaux
and Mary Anne Phillips. At the
exhibition games held Thurs-
day, the team was victorious
over Exeter and 'suffered nar-
row defeats to Winghani Gode-
rich, and 'Clinton. The final
tournament for senior volley-
ball competition will be held
on November 2, in Stratford..
Good Luck to both teams! We're
all behind you. But, remember,
a mark of good sportsmanship
is not that we have a record
covered; with glory, but that we
show a healthy respect for both
our own and • opposing teams.
School Newspaper:
The newspaper staff held its
first meeting on Thursday for
the organization of the school
newspaper ,which will be issued
every second Friday, the first
issue to appear tomorrow. As -

Football:
The fact that the team is sharp-
ening up was proven when the
Golden Bears -defeated Listowel
22-21 in their first home game
on Friday. Top scorer was Paul
O'Reilly who scored; two of the
four touchdowns. The support
of the student body was quite
audible. The cheerleaders help-
ed; to create a racket with their
antics and -cheers. Let's keep up
the goad work and get the
student body behind' our deter-
mined young squad and boost
it to the tog. rt takes all of us
to make a team!
School Dance;
'The first dance of the school
year, sponsored by the Students'.
Council and held last Friday
night in the school auditorium,
brought out a good crowd. Mus-
ic was provided by "The Phase
Three."
I 'think that it is safe to say
that everyone hada a good time.
If all the other dances in- -the,
future are as well attended, ev-
eryone concerned would be very
satisfied.
