Mrs. John Burchill of RR 2,
Dublin, was hostess for a; Cin
tennial Tea and display oS' an-
tique articles, held under the
auspices of- the Dublin Women's
Institute. •
Guests were welcomed in the
afternoon by the vice-president
Mrs. Herbert Britton and in
the evening by the president
Mrs. Thomas Butters.
Mrs. Burchill had assembled
a large display of antique ar-
ticles, including old glass, sil-
ver, china, books, reeords• . and
household furnishings of all
kinds. Among these were wood-
en pegs used for tightening -
rope springs; also on display
were a collection of old bells
and a broad •axe, used in the
building of the barn on the
Burchill Centennial farm.
Conducted by Mrs. Burchill,
Mrs. D. A. Gray of Mitchell, and
obher members of the Institute
all in Centennial cottume,
guests were taken on a tour of
the house, where the items
were on display. They were
then seated for tea, which fea-
tured home-made bread and
jams. Tables were set with old
china and glass and oil , lamp's
were used as part of their
decoration. Small centennial
favours' had been made by the
hostess for each guest.
Those serving tea were: Mrs.
R. S. Aikens, Mrs. Harold Peth-
ick, Mrs. Charles 'Friend, Mrs.
Wm. Smith, Mrs. Roy Burchill,
Mrs. Herbert Britton, Mrs. Jos-
eph Dorsey, Mrs.- Thomas But-
ters and Mrs. Lloyd Humphreys.
St. Marys' Guild
Miss Judith Friend, ,who has
recently returned from Bella
Bella Island, British Columbia,
was guest speaker at a meet-
ing of St. Marys' Anglican Guild,
Dublin, held at the home of
her parents, Mr. and , . Mrs.
Charles Friend.
Miss Friend showed slides
and told of her year's work as
a nurse on the staff of the Un-
ited. Church sponsored, govern-
ment administered hospital on
Bella Bella Island, off the coast
of British • Columbia. The hos-
pital _ • cares for all medical
needs of the island population,
and as well, staff members vis-
it several close by mainland
villages, travelling by either
the hospital boat or by aero-
plane. Slides taken of the
.beautiful scenery from land,
(I)oat or plane, and very descrip-
tive antidotes of her work, of
the people at the hospital;' both
patients and staff, gave the
viewer a vivid picture of life
at Bella Bella. Particularly dra-
matic were, views' of the fire
which destroyed' the church --sit-
uated not far from the hospital.

taken on a holida �' t
Hawaiian Islands. ' er
to Honolulu, a group of
rented a ear and toured
main island of Hawaii.
In raid -October, Miss Friend
reports to Ottawa, where she
will be briefed on her posting
to India as a nurse with the
Canadian University Services
Overseas. Present plans call for
a two-year stay in India while
with CUSO.
Prior to the showing of the
slides, the Guild president, Mrs.
William Smith conducted a
short business meeting..
The Dublin PTA met in the
Dublin Separate School with
Mr. Ferguson presiding. Offic-
ers elected were first vice-presi-
dent, Tony Loomans; secretary,
Mrs° James Delaney; treasurer,
Mrs. Hans Vonk; program, Mrs.
Fergus Stapleton, Mrs. Joe Del-
aney and Mrs. Lou Rowland.
The teachers for the coming
year were 'introduced to the
members.

have' left to spend three weeks
in Holland.

Miss M. Ellis favoured with
a reading on the M. and M. Roll
call proved most interesting by
naming something we are thank-
ful for. Mrs. McAllister report-
ed on the workshop recently
held in Hensel' United Church
and of the available material
which could be used for pro-
gramming including films. The
general meeting is scheduled
for October 23rd with unit four
in charge. Mrs. E. Geiger of
London will be guest speaker.
The -report on visitations dis-
closed 88 calls made. Mrs. Jar-
vis Horton and her assistants
were in charge of the social
hour. Hostess was Mrs. J. Ker-
guson.
Mr. Sim Roobol, a patient in
St. Joseph's Hospital,` London,
underwent surgery last Thurs-
day.
.The Ladies' Aid of Carmel
Presbyterian Church were Pleas-
ed with the 'success of their
Centennial' Turkey Supper on
Thursday. Many attended from
Hensall and surrounding com-
munities. The project was con-
