laneous shower assisted by Mrs.
M. Jardine, St. Marys,
The CGT group, assisted by
Mrs. Lamed, Mrs. Larry Gar-
diner and Miss Bonnie Kerslake'
entertained the ladies of Crom-
arty Presbyterian Church and
neighbors'of the bride at a mis-
cellaneous shower at the home
of the bride's mother.
The bridegroom's parents,
Mr." and Mrs Campbell Eyree,,
Restoule, enteained the brio
al. party at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Alvin Cole, Cromarty,
following., the 'wedding rehear-
sal.
Baskets of white and yellow
chrysanthemums and ferns
formed the •floral setting in the
Presbyterian Church, Cromarty
for the 'marriage ceremony of
Dorothy Isabel Scott, daughter
of Mr. and" Mrs.• Gordon Scott,
Cromarty and Douglas Barry
Eyre, St. Marys; son of Mr. and
Mrs. Campbell Eyre, Restoule,
Ontario, on Saturday, Septem-
ber 30, at 3 p.m.
. Rev. John C, Boyne of Exe-
ter officiated' and Miss Carol
Ann Dow played the wedding
music and accompanied the
soloist, Miss Denise Kerslake,
Cromarty, who sang "The Wedgy
ding Prayer" and "I'll Walk Be-
side- You".
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a gown
of silk peau de soie with a. bat-
eau neckline, lace bodice and
lace elbow length sleeves. A
chapel train fell- from the em-
pire waist. A cluster of orange
blossoms held her full length
veil of silk illusion. She carried
a cascade bouquet of white and
yellow "roses, and ivy.
Mrs. Reg Finlaysoh, Staffa,
sister of the bride was matron
of honor and Moses •Anna and
Agnes Scott, London and Fran-
ces Scott, Crornarfy, all sisters
of the 'bride • were bridesmaids.
They were gowned alike in
floor -length dresses gf aqua
peau die soie with elbow length
sleeves and a floor length train
falling from a bow attachedat
the empire waist. Aqua wedding
bands held the cocktail length
veil. Yellow and bronze chrysan-.
themums and gold roses corn
pleted the costume. Miss Sheila
Eyre, Restoule, niece of the
bridegroom, was flower .'girl„
dressed in a white nylon dress
and matching headband , and
car'rying similar flowers to the
bridesmaids.
Michael Finlayson, Staffa,
nephew of the bride, acted as
ringbearer, wearing a Maple
Leaf Tartan jacket and carry:
ing a white heart shaped satin
pillow .trimmed with white
French face. -
Mr. Ken Coulson, St. Marys,•
was best man and Reg. Finlay,
song Staffa, Lawrence Eyre, St.
Thomas, ' Mervyn Eyre, Res-
toule; both brothers of the
bridegroom, acted as ushers.
A reception followed in the•
chfirch parlour Where the bride's
mother received • the guests in
a blue sheath with lace bodice,
blue accessories and a corsage
of yellow mums. The bride-
groom's mother chose a brown
crepe with brown` accessories
and a yellow mem corsage.
The following friends of the
bride served the guests seated
at the tables enhanced by yel-

Following a honeymoon trip
to Expo, Mr. 'and Mrs. Robert
Jerry. Drysdale Will make their
home in Kenera. The 'bride is
the former Helen Marion Hen-
drick, daughter of Mrs. Hen-
drick and the late Samuel Hen-
drick, Exeter and Mr, and Mrs.
R. J. Drysdale, Hensel', are
parents of the groom. Rev, S.
Lewis officiated at the marriage
-ceremony in James Street Uni-
ted Church,,.Exeter, Saturday,
October 7, at 2 p.m.. Mrs. Rob-
ert Hoffman, Dashwood, was
soloist. Shewas accompanied by
organist Jtobeet Camelron of
Hensall who also furnished the
wedding music.
Given in marriage by her bro-
ther, Hugh Hendrick, Kippen,
the bride wore a traditional
floor -length gown of white lago-
da crepe with chapel train.. She
carried a bouquet of yellow
rose buds and stephanotis.
Maid of honor was Miss Helen
Cole,' Sarnia, cousin of' the
bride and bridesmaids.were

girls, Jennifer and Julia, Hen-
drick, all• nieces of the bride.
They were al gowned alike. in
erepire-style floor -length velvet
in different autumn shades
with •headdresses and bouquets
of matching autumn .dowers.
The mother of the bride was
gowned in goldbrocade and the
mother of the groom wore
green silk worsted. Both had
brown accessories and matching
corsages. • -

A reception was held at. the
Little Inn, Bayfield. For travel-
ling the bride changed to a
knitted suit of burnt orange
with brown accessories.
The bride is a graduate of
the Victoria School of Nursing
and the groom is a, graduate in
Forestry of the University of
New Brunswick, Fredericton.
Prior to her marriage the
bride was entertained at show-
ers given by ,VIrs: Robert West-
lake, Zurich, • Mrs. Jack Drys-
dale*,Hensall, Miss Joan Dett-
mer, Exeter and at a coffee
party given by Mrs. Jack Doerr,.
Exeter.

For travelling to Expo and
the East Coast the bride don-
ned • a cannel hair suit • with
brown 'accessories and yellow
rose corsage.
On their return, the couple
will reside in St. Marys. -

Restoule, Exeter, St: Marys,
Mitchell, London, Brucefield,
Woodstock, St. Thomas, Clinton,
Staffa, Cromarty and the sur-
rounding,•distriet.
Miss Scott was honored with
three showers previous to her
marriage. -
Mrs. Larry Gardiner, Crom-
arty, was hostess for a surprise
shower for, friends at her home,
Mrs. Gorden Peacock, St.

Quebec the ,bride chose a dress
and coat ensemble of cerise
gabardine with matching hat,
black accessories and a symbod-
ium orchid corsage.
The bride is ` a graduate of
Brescia College, University of
Western Ontario and the groom
attended Loyola College, •Mont-
real..

ed by Mary Lou Elizabeth Sills
and Michael Charles Rourke,
Toronto, in St. James' Roman.
Catholic Church, Seaforth, On-
tario. Rev. H. J. Laragh officiat--
ed at the marriage ceremony
and said the nuptial mass. The
bride is the daughter of Mrs.
Charles Sills, Seaforth and. the
late Mr. Sills; and the groom
is the son of Mr. and' Mrs, John
S. Rourke, Montreal. -
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her brother, Ronald C.
Sill's, Kitchener. She chose a
naeroww floor -length, gown of
French silk organza, featuring
an empire bodice and lily -point.
sleeves of alencon lace accented
with crystals and seed pearls.
Two rows of wide lace applique
on the skirt endedi in a scalloped
hemline. Her cathedral brain
fell gracefully fro -the -..the waist.
A crown of organza and alen-
con lace petals scattered with
c@'ystals . and pearls held her
long veil of French illusion. She
carried a formal hand cascade
of gardenias with stephanotis
arranged over her mother's bri-
dal prayerbook.

ener, was matron of honor for.
her sister and bridesmaids were
Miss Janet Rourke, Montreal;
sister of the groom and Mrs:

Michigan. 'They were gowned
alike in.moss green shantung
and carried harvest cascades of,
fall flowers with accents of bar-
ley. The flower girl, Catherine
Silas, niece of the_ bride, wore
a similar gown witli daintily
embroidered bodice and car -
pied a miniature cascade.
Mr. Terrence Rourke, Mont-
real, was groomsman - for his
brother and guests were usher-
ed by Mr. Joseph Kennedy, Kit-
chener and Mr. A. John Rourke,
Montreal, brother of the groom.,
Soloist was Mr. Francis C. J.
Sills„ cousin of the ,bride and
Mrs. Alice Stiles was organist.
For receiving guests at the
reception following, the bride's
mother chose a dress and jack-
et of French knit in moss, acorn
and gold with gold accessories
and a corsage of orange delight
rosebuds. The groom's mother
chose a navy ensemble and wore
a corsage of miniature yellow
carnations' and stephanotis.

CROP ,REPORT
Silo filling is steadily progres-
sing in spite' of the almost daily
showers. -Harvesting of grain
corn has c'om'menced. With the
exception of acreages damaged
earlier in the year with hail and
of excessive rains, coal yields
promise to be at least average.
Fall plowing is progressing
satisfactorily.
A .large percentage of the
white bean crop remains to be
harvested.
