Friends
Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Wheatley,
Liberty, Sask., are visiting with
relatives and friends in the
Seaforth area, A better than av-
erage crop in the west is re-
ported and threshed in record
time. Mr. Wheatley, a high
school principal in the- same
school for 34 years now owns
and operates Dralee Farm —
a three thousand' acre wheat
ranch in the fertile Long Lake
valley.. They plan on returning'
soon to their suite in the Hil-
ton Hawaiian, Honolulu. In Jan-
uary they will jet to. the South
Pacific for another vacation in
Tahiti. After a circle tostir - bf
Fiji, N. Zealand, and Australia,
they will return to Waikiki.

John Walter McBeath of
Brucefield passed away .sud-
denly at Seaforth Communy
Hospital, - Monday evening,
September llth in his ,70th
year.
Mr. McBeatii, a preminent
resident . of , B.rucefie d, was
superintendent of the Tucker -
smith Municipal... Telephone
System for forty years, until
his retirement last January.
He played a major role in the
design -and construction of the
new- Tuekersmith Telephone
dial system and of the system
exchange at Bayfield. ,
Surviving are his wife, the
liner Pearl Brock, a son
Douglas, Windsor; a sister,
Mrs. J. R, (Janet) Murdoch,
Brucefield and a granddaugh-
ter.•
Public "funeral services will
be held from the Bonthron
Funeral' Home, Hensen, on
Thursday,, September 14th at
2:30 p.m. Interment will fol-
low in Baird's Cemetery..

A lovely edding''was'sol-
emnized at St. Boniface Ro-
man Catholic Church on Sep-
tember 2, at 11.00 o'clock,
when Jean A. Smith, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. A. Smith,
RR 3 Zurich, was united in
marriage with James Maloney'
son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Mal-
oney, RR 5 Seaforth. Rev. A.
N. Page officiated at the Nup-
tial High Mass. The church
was decorated with large bou-
quets of white and red glads,
iced snap dragons and white
ferns. ••
The bride, who was given
in marriage by her father,
looked radiant in a floor
length gown of cloud', white
chantilly lace in a cage ef-
fect, with the yoke, neck and
tain frosted in lace applique.
Her veil of tulle illusion fell
from a fower crown in scal-
loped layers. She carried a
cascade :;of -white carnations
and iced snap dragons, sweet-
heart roses and trailing ivy.
Matron of honor was Mrs.
Edward Lesperance, Forest,
and Ms. James Kelly, Brant-
ford and Mrs. Ferg Kelly, of
Seaforth were bridesmaids,
They wore identical true blue
floor length gowns, fashioned
in similar style to the bride's
ensemble and carried baskets
of large yellow mums, clust-
ers of green grapes and hea-
ther ferns. The flowergirl,
Miss Sharon Smith, wore a
frock identical to 'the brides-
maids and carried a basket
of baby mums and ice -colored
snap dragons.
Groomsman -was Mr. Fran-
cis Maloney, London and Mr.
James . Kendall, Brantford,
and `Mr. Edward Lesperance,
Forest were the ushers. Mas-
ter Michael Kelly was the
ringbearer. Mr. James Smith
and Mr. Ferg Kelly received
guests. Mrs. Stephen Meiding-
er played traditional wedding
music and the St. Boniface
Church choir sang.
A -reception' -and dinner ---vias
held following the ceremony
at Brodhagen . Community
Hall. The mothers of the bride
Ind groom -- received guests
and wore blue dresses of id-
entical color and corsages- of
pink carnations'.
For travelling to the west-
ern provinces,the bride wore.
a pale green two-piece' suit,
with black accessories and a
white orchid corsage. Mr:
and Mrs. Maloney will reside
at RR 5 Seaforth.

season is upon -us once again.
Your officers are looking for-

they are ready to form teams
and get the schedule going.
Inter -town started last Sat-
urday to be followed ny St.
James' League on Monday
night. Since there is a big
dance . next Monday night,
those who bowled last Mon-
day and those intending to
bowl will please note that for
next week only the St. James'
League will bowl on Wed-
nesday night. at 9:00 pm.
The Legion league is sched-
uled to • start on Friday, Sept.
22 at 7 p.m Your officers ex
pect to see you ready to go for
the season.
Other leagues are being
formed for Tuesday, Wednes-
days and Thursdays. If you
wish to bowl on any one of
these nights contact the alley
management. It is anticipated,
to form, mixed leagues and a '
commercial men's league. The
season is on so let all bowl-
ers be ready

the double ring ceremony.
The church was decorated
with standards of gladiplias
and crysanthemums..-
The bride,` who was given
in marriage by her father,
wore a floor length gown of
white Lagonda. The basic
sheath dress was enhanced by
a bateau neckline, long lily -
point -sleeves --and` - a gently
fitted waist. The skirt and
bodice" were •accented by ap
pliques of chantilly lace. A
detachable chapel train for-
med a bustle at the back of
the gown: Her veil was of
French silk 'illusion with a
crown of crystals and tiny
petals. The bridal bouquet
was of white roses, accented
with pink • sweetheart rose-
buds.
Miss Margaret Anne Staple-
ton, Seaforth, was maid of
honor for her sister and Miss
Mary Stapleton, Sarnia and
Miss Kathleen Hollingworth,
London; were bridesmaids.
They wore dresses of floor
length royal .blue chiffon,
with long puffed sleeves and
high stylet' necklines with
matching Swiss lack at the
neck and wrists. Their head-
pieces were of royal blue chif-
fon roses -and- they carried
bouquets df vari-colored roses
white carnations, - stephenotis
and crysanthemumrns,
. Mr. Gary Raab, of Gregor,
Saskatchewan, was best man,
while Mr. Paul Stapleton,
brother 'of :the' bride, and Dr.
James Pantekeok of Sackville
New Brunswick ushered• the
guests. Mrs. A, Stiles, the 'or-
ganist,, played traditional
wedding music.
.Following the ceremony, a
reception was. held at the
home of the bride's parents.

jacket was accented by a mat-
ching hat and shoes and a
corsage of sylbidium orchids.

The bride and groom will

is a graduate of the Univer'ity

Janet Henderson, St. George,

hol,_ cousin of the groom,
wore a dress of white peau
tie charm in the style of the
bridesmaids; . She carried a
wrist corsage of yellow roses.

ers were Mr. Garry McNichol
of Walton, brother of the
groom, and Mr. Bruce Hulley
of Londesboro brother of the
bride. Mr. Bills Hulley, Crom-
arty, cousin of the .bride Was
the ring bearer.
The wedding reception was
held in the Community Hall,
in Londesboro. The brides mo-
ther received the guests wear-
ing a pink lamine ensemble
and the groom's mother *roe'

ing jacket.
For a trip to Northern Can-
ada, the bride - chose a pale
green suit with white access-
ories.
