opened on Tuesday, Sept. 5,
with 15 beginners in .grade one;
taught by Mrs,• -Kenneth Staple-
ton and 21 in grade two: ,Mrs.
Fergus Kelly has 41 in grades
three and four. Mrs. Matt Mc-'
Creight has 36 in grades five
and six. Sister Shirley has 31
in grades seven and eight, and
is principal' of the school.

The Catholic Women's Lea-
gue of Seaforth met on Sept.
5. The president, Mrs. Arthur
Devereaux opened the meeting
yth prayer, followed by a
mn. The minutes of the last
meeting were read and adopt-
ed. The visiting committee for
September is Mrs. Emmett Mal-
one and Mrs. Henry Swartz.
The president thanked every-
one for their help during the
summer.
The penny saleis frond .Sept.
18, to 23. Christmas cards and
paper will be sold. It was de-
cided to have, a Christmas ba-
zaar. Father Laragh spoke
about Expo.
Mrs.. John Flannery introduced
Mrs. E. Durst who gave a very
•interesting demonstration about
arranging flowers. Mrs. Ewart
Wilson thanked her and pre-
sented her with a gift. -
The mystery prize was won by
Mrs. James Kelly. Lunch foI-
lowed, served by Mrs. Frank
Ding, Mrs., Joe Nigh and Mrs.
Henry Ziler.

.`was sung, Mrs. Dave Martin
read the scripture, Matthew 25,
1429. The meditation was giv-
en
illen by Mrs. Mac Thompson. Mrs.
Gordon Hill received the col-
lection which was dedicated, by
Mrs. Geolte Reid. Mrs. Perce
Johnston gave a chapter from
the study book, "The Church
Grows in Canada". Mrs. Bill
Dowson read two .poems; "The
World's Relbuild.ers" and` "Sep-
=tember". After Hymn 351, Mrs.
Ron Taylor closed the°worship
service with prayer.
The business of the. meeting
was conducted by Mrs. Mervin
Hayter. It was decided to hold
the annual ch ch supper on
October 4. Mebers were re-
minded of the workshop to be
held.in.•Biensall and Clinton and
the fall rally at Montcrief. 'The
nleeting closed with prayer and
lunch was served by group
three.
