Farm Safety Week Is Centennial "Event ' Another Centennial evefit, "Farm Safety Week" will be held across Canada July 23 to 29. "Live dangerously" no long- er is the motto. People are be- coming safety aware now, states Hal Wright, Ontario Department of Agriculture and Food. Since Mr. Wright was. appointed Farm Safety Specialist eight years ago the number of farm accidents have been reduced (in a random survey of seven Ontario coun- ties). Because people are now de- manding -it, machines and build- ings aredieing designed' with more safety features. All trac- tors have ptoshields, while guards and shields are protect- ing fanners from .chains, belts, and rotating shafts: ten years ago, they didn't. Two years ago,.
