She chose a gown: of yellow
chantilly lace over satin in a
sheath style with a matching
headpiece.
The groom was attended by
Ross Jewitt of RR 1 Clinton
as .groomsman, and Ronald
Beady of Kincardine and, Jim
Preszcator of RR 1 Clinton, as
ushers.
A reception was held fol-
lowing the ceremony in the
Commercial Hotel.
For a wedding trip to Nor-
tt"ern Ontario the bride trav-
elled in a powder blue suit
with white accessories. On
their return the couple will
reside at RR 2 Seaforth.
Guests were present from
Crediton, Clinton, Kincardine,
Brodhagen and Seaforth.

the newlyweds. The Anglican
ladies 'and neighbors served
refreshments.
Dr. and Mrs• Westermann
are spending their honeymoon
in Mexico and on their return

FUNERAL
WILLIAM FAWCETT
" William A. Fawcett, 85, Staffa,
died Tuesday ire Seaforth Com-
munity Hospital where he had
been a patient for three weeks.
He was•born in 1881 in Hib-
bert Township, son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. William Fawcett.
He married Olive Leslie in 1914,
and farmed in Hibbert until re-
tiring to Staffa 11 years ago.
He, was a member of Staffa.

Besides his- wife, 'Mr. Faw-
cett' is survived by sons, Les-
lie, Toronto, " John, 'London;
daughters,» Mrs: Lorne (Verna)
McNichol, Mrs. Arthur ('Doris)

Guelph; Mrs. Ross (Kathleen)

Mission City, B.C.; nine grand-

The body was at the lo.ckhart
funeral home, Mitchell, where
Rev..Be.rt Daynard, Staffa Unit,
ed Church conducted. the fun-
eral service at 2:00 p.m., Fri-
day:' Burial followed' in Staffa
cemetery.

dents of Seaforth 'Manor at a
birthday party' when taking
part in the program, chaired
by Mrs. Ross Gordon, were step s

Several games of bingo were
played and birthday cake was

7 o'clock when Miss Sandra
Jean McGonigle, R.N., London,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gor-
don McGonigle, Seaforth, be-
came the bride of Mr. Ivan T.
Anderson, Jr., Aurora, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Anderson, Sr.
Aurora. Rev. A. R. Yeilding of
Stratford officiated.
The bride chose a street -
length gown of white lace with
white accessories and a corsage
of red rases.
The bride was attended by
Miss Nancy Cruickshank, R.N.,
London. She wore a street -
length gown of smocked pearl,
with a corsage of pink carna-
tions.
The groom was attended by
Mr. Jim Maxwell, Aurora.
The wedding dinner and rec-
eption was held at the Victor-
ian Inn, Stratford., The couple
will reside in London. •

Wins Again
Everybody .has•a talent and one of George Kruse's seems
to be growing a beard. Thursday night he won the Centennial
Beard Growing Contest at the Lions Carnival. It was a repeat
performance of his victory in the last beard growing contest
in 1961. This is how he looked then.,

its inception as a mission
church. Previous to the estab-
lishing of the church, Mass was
celebrated in various homes
th'r`oughout the area, and at
that time St. James' Seaforth
was the headquarters .where• all
the early records were kept.
• Rt. Rev. Monsignor Blair,
parish priest at Wingham,
founded the Mission wire h has
been served ever since b the
pastor of Sacred Heart Chu
Wingham. Following Monsigno
Blair to serve the Mission were
Rev. J. Fallon; Rev. McHugh;
Rev. Paquette; Rev. Bricklin;
Rev, Frecher; ' Rev. Rejel Dur-
and, who served 10 y as, 1949.
to 1959, now of Dublin •and
Rev.• John Mooney, present par-
ish priest at Sacred Heart
Church, Wingham.
Among . the oldest and con-
tinuous parishoners and at-
tending today, was Mrs. Wil-
liam Blake, 82 yeas young, Sis-
ter St. Anthony, the former
Marie Baker • from Cranbrook,
now at St. Marys' Hospital, Lon-
don, was a special guest. At
present there are '35 families
served by the Mission.
Guests were present for
the occasion from Toronto; Kit-
chener, London, Stratford, Dub-
lin and Montreal. The arrange-
ments were under the auspices
of the Altar Society of St. Am=
brose Church.
