Ladies Aid
•The Ladies' Aid of First Pres
byterian Church met Tuesday,
afternoon when they had as
their guests the ladies of , the
church who• do not get out to
the regular services. Mrs.
Frank filing welcomed the
guests after which Rev. D. 0.
Fry conducted a. Communion
services He was assisted by
Charles MacKay, John Hoelsch-
er and Malcolm 1VIcKellar. A
large number of the ladies
were dressed in their old time
costumes. Mrs. W,, R. Kerslake
read the scripture, lesson and
Mrs. Harold Agar led in prayer.
A duet, "Abide with • me" was
sung by Mrs. Frank Kling and
Mrs. R. K. .McFarlane, accom-
panied by Mrs. John McGreg-
or. Mrs. King invited the group
to a picnic meeting on the first
Tuesday iri 'August. Miss Jennie
Hogg was the guest speaker
and she chose her subject,
"What shall I render unto the
Lord". She also repeated pas-
sages of scripture and read oth-
er passages by Braille 'Miss
Hogg was attired in her moth-
er's wedding dress and gave a
,brief history of the dress, A
hymn was sung after which Mrs.
J. W. .Thompson closed the
meeting with prayer. Supper
was served by Miss Jean Scott.

dell made the presentation.
Mrs. Barbara McLeod, Mit-
chell, is spending a few days
with her sister Mrs, Rachael
Ahrens.
The Centennial committee for
Logan Township held another
meeting on Wednesday night,
furthering plans for Centennial
Day on July 8, with Fred Herr
bert in charge. It will take
place at the Brodhagen Com-
munity Hall.`
About seven floats have been
arranged so far for the, parade.
Anyone -interested, in •having,, a
float should get in touch with
George Jarmuth, RR 1, Born-
holm.
There %kill he prizes for floats.
Mrs. Michael Connelly gave a
program report for the public
schools for an afternoon pro-
gram. -•
Carl . Vock is arranging for
bands for the parade. Two ball
games are also scheduled for
this day on the ball- diamond.
A beauty contest will be held
for the young ladies from ,16
years to 100 years. A beard
growing contest will also bel
heed.

A program will follow in the
evening with local talent. The
evening will close with a dance.
There will be a master of cere-
monies to keep• everything rol-
ling,
Booths will be on the grounds
to suit everybody's individual
tastes.

MRS. ADOLF PFEIFER
u Mrs. Adolf Pfeifer, Brodha-
gen, 'passed away early Friday
morning at the Stratford Gen-
eral Hospital. She was the form-
er Marie Sellheim. She was a
member of St. Peter's Luther-
an Church, Brodhagen.
She is survived by two so.Ias,
Clarence, Logan Township and
Lloyd of Brodhagen, 'one grand-
son, Karl, Brodhagen. Her hus-
b1959.and predeceased her in April,
Funeral services were held
Monday at St. Peter's- Lutheran
Church, With Rev. H. Lowing
off Mating:

dice, Wilfred Ahrens, Norman
and Edwin Rock, Ford Dicki-

Burial was made at the

Huron County Junior Farm-
ers are planning an exchange
with Welland County •Juniors,
it was- announced at a meeting
of, the Huron County group re-
,cently.
The trip to the Niagara Falls
area will -take pI•ace from ,July
14-16. Any or all of the 243 area
members are eligible for the
trip. They will go by bus and
remain for two days ' in the
area. '
The annual Junior Farmers
track meet will be held Satur-
day at SDHS. The day of sports
will close with a dance in Wal-
ton.
At the meeting Mrs. Muriel
Trott took pictures. for the Hur-
on County Year Book being pub-
lished 'by the Junior Farmers. •
Junior Farmer 'sweaters are
to be available soon. They will
