Fire
Hensall firemen were called
to a 'fire Sunday merning, in a
tractor on the Zurich road, one
mile west •ef Hensel', 84 High-
way, owned by James E. Mc-
Ewen, RR 2, Hensel'. The trac-
tor, completely gutted by fire,
was driven by Leonard Smale,
17; Hensall, upset and .eaught
fire, in the middle of the road.

second lesson. The Rev. T. M.

a former minister was guest
speaker: Miss Jean Henderson
was soloist singing 'for her sel-
ection "Be Thou Nigh'!. The
choir under direction of Mrs.
F. Forrest, sang an anthem, Solo-
ists Miss Brenda Lavender and
"-Miss Sylvie Henderson. Follow-
ing the service, a social hour
was held in the church base-
ment, former ministers and
members were present from
Windsor, Deleward, London,
Woodstock, Kincardine, Toron-
to, Seaforth, Woodham and
Cnmarty. •
Mr. Joe Flynn who has. been
a ,patient in St. Joseph's Hos-
pital, London, for the past six-
teen weeks with a fractured
leg, game home Friday of last
week.
Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Thompson,
Tonnto, the farther Marion `Me -
Kay, of Hensall, visited over the
weekend—with the latter's sis-
ters and brother-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. W. S. Shepherd and attend-
ed the 90th anniversary of St.
Paul's Anglican Church, Sunday
evening:

ited recently with Mr. and Mrs.
Stewart McQueen. -

Birmingham, Mich., with Mrs.

for' many years, passed ln
South Huron Hospital; Venter,
Friday, June Oth.
Left to mourn ,.his toss., are
four sons: William. Howard and
Tom, Hensall; Alvin, Seaferth;
three daughters,'Peael, Win:Wil-
liam trooper, Grand Bend; Ir-
ene, Mrs. "Allan Quance, Staffa;
4elia, Mrs. Clarence' Farwell,
Zurich; four brothen, Frank,
Seaforth; Neil, Terwer, Mich.;
Henry and Ed of Saskatchewan;
22 grandchildren and 24 great
grandchildren. Mrs. Smale Pas-
sed away some year ago.
Public funeral services, large-
ly ,attended, were held,Monday,
June 12th, at 2 p.m., from the
Bonthron• funeral home, conduc-
ted by Rev. 11. F. Currie. Burial
•was in. McTaggart's •cemetery.
Pallbearers were Eric Smale,
Don Smale, Ronald and Mervyn
Stephen, Otto Smelt'eGary
Quance, grandsons of the de-
ceased.
Flower bearers were.- George
Farwell, Jack Stephen, Ken and
Leonard "Smale, Bob and Jim
Smale, also grandsons.
STOFFER FABER
• Public funeral services for
the late Stoffer Faber of RR 1,
Hensel", were held • from the
Bonthron ftineral home, Monday,
June igth, a 3130 p.m., conduc-
ted by Rev. D. J. acholten. Bur-
ial was in HensallUnion ceme-
tery. Mr, Faber, who lived with
his son, Harry, following the
death of his wife, nine years
ago, passed away in South Hur-
on Hospital, Exeter, Saturday,
in his 86th year.' •
Surviving are four Sons, Har-
ry, RR 1., HensalIrRochUs and
Egbert, 4R 3, Kippen; Cornel-
idus, RR 3, Exeter; 10 grand-
childre; '12 great grandchildren;
one sister in Holland:

Crop Report
Ample rain fell this week
and has made the hay crop look
very promising for 1967 in flur-
on County. It also has given the
cereals andnew seeding an ex-
cellent start. •
Bean planting has been pro-
gressing well, but it, temporar-
ily halted becatise of the rain
over the weekend.
Almost all corn is up and
post emergence sprays are be-
ing applied.
