The reception was held at
Brodhagen. ,The wedding trip
was to Expo 67 in Montreal.
The couple will reside in Dub-
lin.
A miscellaneous shower
was held' recently for Miss
Connie Eckert, sponsored by
Mrs. Ronald Murray and Mrs.
Jerome Murray.

bride-to-be who expressed her
thanks to her many friends
and relatives,
A shower was held in honor
of Connie. Eckert in London
with Mrs. Patrick Cleary as-
sisted by Colleen, Patricia,
and Betty Ann as hostess. In
attendance were Wells Aca-
demy class mates and other
friends... The • eventing passed
with interesting ..games arid
Connie received many lovely
gifts for which she expressed,
her sincere gratitute and ap-
preciation. A lovely lunch

the chairman, John E. Longstaff
said gross income in April
amounted to $35,076 up stinhtly
from the March figure. After; de-
preciation of $2,796 a 'deficit ,of
$885 occurred •on the month's
operations.
A suggestion that additional
lighting be provided in the pub-
lic parking area was referred
to the property committee to
study and have estimates pre-
pared. •
At Capacity
In her report as administrator
Miss V. Drape, said the hospital
was working tofull capacity at
all times. The occupancy in med-
ical surgical was 105.9% during
April compared to 94.8% a year
ago: Admissions during ' the
month were' 407, up from 397
the previous year.
$he said that steps were be-
ing taken to ,establish a disaster
plan as' a result of encourage-
ment from the Department of
Health and indicated that when
the plan was in being, a disas-
ter kit of approximately, 12
pieces Alai could be used for
patients outside the Hospital
in the event of a. disaster, would
be made available. She saidthe
medical staff had arranged a
meeting in mid-J'une .to discuss
a -disaster plan. ,
The report. reviewed steps
which were' being taken as a
preliminary to receiving credi-
tation. Representatives of the
hospital had attended a .meeting
in Stratford ;together with oth-
er area hospitals to 9discuss de-
tails:

MRS. ROBERT S. BEATTIE
Mrs. Robert S. Beattie, the
former Margaret Elizabeth Ken-
ney of Winthrop, died Tuesday
in 'St. Joseph's Hospital, Lon-
don.

She was horn in McKillop
township,. the daughter of the
late Paul. Kenney and Matilda
Stewart, both from Ireland. She
received, her education in Me-'
Killop, Seaforth High School,
Clinton Model School and Tor-
onto Normal School where she
studied' for a teacher. She mar-
ried Robert S. Beattie' in 1907
at the McKillop manse. He sur-
vives her. She was a member
of Cavan United Church, Win-
throp.
She is survived by one daugh-
ter, Margaret, Mrs. George.
Michie, Morris township and
'two sons, T. Stewart, Wingham
and R. Leslie, Seaforth, and also
by seven grandchildren. '
She will be buried 'Thursday,
from the R. S. Box funeral
home, at -2 p.m. Rev. J. C. Brit-
ton will officiate., Interment is
in .Maitlandbank cemetery. '

Toronto, died in' hospital in
.Woodstock on Tuesday.. She
was in her 76th year.
Her husband, the late Robert
E. MacKenzie, predeceased her
a month ago, ,predeceased

n, She was born in Egmondville,
the daughter of the late Hugh
Mure Chesney and Eliza Hor-
ton. She attended Seaforth Col-
legiate and the Stratford Tea-
chers' College and taught in
the 'Egmon`dvilie school. •-.
Since:,1940. Mrs. MacKenzie re-
sided in Toronto and was -ac-
tive meinber'of Deer Park-TJn-
ited Church and ' was on ,the
executive of the Dominion
Board of the United Church.
She is survived by two sons,
Dr. Donald H. }L, iroronto and
Dr. J. Robert, Sarnia, also four
grandchildren.
A private funeral service was
held Thursday at the --R. S. Box
funeral home, when Rev. D.
Steven of Egmondville- . United
Church officiated. Interment
was in . Maitlandbank cemetery.
