The scripture passage was read by Mrs. Clifford Ritchie from Colossians 1: 3-20 and prayer was offered. A film recommended, for use by the UCW entitled .,The Song of the Shining mountains" was introduced by Mrs. Walter Bewley and shown by Rev. A. Higginbot- ham. The film was a fine port- rayal of the struggle of many Indian young people. Andy Red Cloud returns home from residential school to find his parents ready to sell their ranch to a syndicate. In do- ing so they relinguish the few rights and opportunities they had as land owners. The family moves to : a veritable slum. Discouraged and depe ressed Andy begins to lose faith in himself, his future, and his God. tie turns to the ancient ,practices of his peo- ple, hoping to find meaning there.
