f'edera'tion .of Agriculture and the Farm-
ers' Union are jointly sponsoring a can-
vass in McKillop Township to aid the
Huron -Perth Tornado Disaster Fund.
It is hoped that the canvass will get un-
derway Thursday, April 27th, to Thurs-
day, May, 3r -d, 1967.

Ontario's famous ` historical
fashion, pageant, Portraits from
the Past, will be presented in
SDHS on May 15th.
The show will be under the
sponsorship. of• Seaforth Wo-
men's Institute and proceeds
will go toward financing'Centen-
nial , celebrations in Seaforth
and district.
The presentation, in the form
of a fashion show, consists of
39 women's costumes dating
from the visits of early explor-
ers to early 1900s.
Replicas of the dresses worn
by such famous ' women as
Madame Champlain, Mrs. John
Graves Simeoe and Laura Se -
cord are included in the show.

at a salary of $3,000. per an-

chased at a cost of $435,88 -from
Earl ,'Rawagn Style Shop in
Goderieh.
New turnkey at the jail is
Leonard Rivett who will re-
ceive $3,300 annually.
The Probation Officer will
move to another office in; the
Court House and the jail resi-
dence will become the head-
quarters for the new Huron
County Library System follow-
ing

OBITUARY
MRS.,HERBERT COOMBS
- %Mrs..Herbert Coombs of Eg-
mondville died in Goderich on
Tuesday at 76 years of .age. She
had been ill for two years.
She leaves to mourn,her hus-
band, T. Herbert Coombs and
six sons: Palmer, London;. Wes-
ley, and Kenneth, Seaforth;
Cleave, Raymond and H. Fer-
gus of Egmondville. 'Also sur-
viving are one sister, Florence,
Mrs. Peter Dudley of London,
one brother,' Harry Wardin of
Royal Oak, Michigan and 13
grandchildren.
Mrs. Coombs was .the former
Amy Wardin, daughter of the
late Henry Wardin .,and Jessie
Hannah and °was born in Win-
throp. She married Mr. Coombs
in Egmondville in 1910. She
was a member of the Egmond-
ville United Church:
She -was buried Thursday
from the R. S. Box funeral
home in Seaforth, with. Rev.
Douglas L. Steven officiating.
Burial was in Egmondlville cem-
etry,

A euchre party was held in
the Legion Hall, Thursday, spon-
sor'ei by -the spurts committee
of Hensall Legion Ladies' Aux-
iliary under the convenership
of Mrs. William Smale and
Mrs. Clarence Reid.
Winners were:. high, Mrs.
George Shiels; low, Mrs. Mary
Taylor; lone hands, Mrs. Har-
old Campbell; men: high, Harry
Horton; low, Mr. Windover, who
also won the lone hands prize.
In the draw for a plant of yel-
low mums, 'Mrs. W. J. Camer-
on was the winner. Lunch was
served.

Brenda thanked the ladies

see so many of her old friends
present. A wishing well made
by Mrs. Harold Bolger filled
with kitchen necessities was
also presented to the bride.
