Mrs. Mabel Higgerson had
as her guests on Good Friday,

Miss Kathy Dale represented
the juniors from Seafortb,�Dis-
trict High School on ;Friday
night at the Clinton Secondary
School in a contest sponsored
by the Odd Fellows and Rebek-
ahs. Ten contestants were pre-
sent from the five Secondary
Schools in the county, each one
was chosen for the best essay
written on Canada's Centenn 1.
Contestants were requi ed to
speak for seven minutes on what
Canada's Centennial meant to
them and to give an impromptu'
speach.
The winner, this year from the
Clinton School, is given a two
week tour of New York, Unit-
ed Nations and Expo.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Mann of
Bluevale visited on Faster Sun-
day with Mrs. Irene Grimoldby.
Mr. and Mrs. Earlan Osborn
and girls visited on Friday eve-
ning with Mr. and Mrs. Howard

EOL 1035 held their 'final
euchre party of the season in
the hall on, Friday • evening.
Prize winners were: ladies high,,
Mrs. Bruce McQiinchey; ladies
low, Brenda Triebner; men's
high., Gordon Johnston; and
men's low Bob Cook.. The draw
for maple syrup was won by
Mrs. George Elliott, Clintdn
Jim Murray and Albert Craig
entertained with music on the
violin and guitar.
Mrs. Murdock Morrison is at
present a patient at the Clin-
ton Hospital. Her Mende wish
her a speedy recovery.
Several people from Varna
attended the Goshen UCW Cen=
tennial Supper at the Goshen
Church on Wednesday evening.
Centennial costumes worn by
the ladies and the antique ar-
ticles on display added greatly
to the Centennial theme.
The London_ conference Kyroa
will be in charge of the services
at the Varna and Goshen
Churches on Sunday. -

"How Many Roads" service
will be presented in 'Varna and
Goshen United Churches .. on
Sunday at the regular service
times and will- be -conducted by
the London Conference Kyros,
which involves members from
districts of London, Windsor,
Chatham, Woodstock and the
local area.
The theme is based on the
folk song, "How Many Roads",
showing areas of youth concern
in the community and the world.
The Hi -C m group of both
churehes have organized.,, for
the young . adults to be billited
in the homes of the congrega
tion.

gathered at the Legion Hall in
Hensel/ to honor theta on the
occasion .of their 45th wedding
,anniiiersary. After dinner a so-
cial time was enjoyed by the
members of the family.
Mr. Lyle Hill of Bayfield has
been chosen as, the official rep-
resentative of the Royal Cana-
dian Artillery to lay a wreath
at the National `War Memorial,
Ottawa, on Sunday, April. 9th,
comemorating Canadian's cap-
ture of Vimy Ridge on April 9th
1017.

The Huron County Historical
Society plana a meeting in Clin-
ton on April 17th, in Central
Huron Secondary School, when
Rev. Harold Snell of London
and a Huron native will be
guest speaker. Adisplay of an-
tiques by the WI of Clinton will
be featured and, there will be
a number of old time fiddlers.
