nial emblem with swatches of
material as the book cover de-
sign. The leaders' gave notes on
marking material, grain and
stay stitching, and different
types -of seams, plain, flat, fel-
led, French .and lapped.

met at the home ,of Mr. and
Mrs. J. R. Jefferson with Mt.
Darrell Parker presiding for
the program. The secretary,
Mrs. Jefferson read, the minutes
andthe treasurer's report was
given by Mrs. R. Dodds, The
meeting voted $5.00 to be sent
to the Perth County Children's
Aid Society.. The program con-
sisted of community singing,
instrumental by Mrs, R. Mc-
Caughey, readings .by Mrs. E.
Moore and Miss Olive Speare.
The congregation, and friends
of Cromarty Presbyterian
Church celebrated St. Patrick's
Day with a pot -luck supper and
program. After 'stopper enter-
tainment followed. Irish songs
by the CGIT girls, readings by
Miss Olive Speare, songs by
Bonnie Denise and Barbara Ker-
slake. Six couples in the TV

Quiet music with Mrs. Robert
McCaughey at the piano open-
ed the March meeting of the
Staffa United Church Women,
held in the Family Life Centre
on -Wednesday .afternoon. The
theme of the meeting was Penn
tanee with Mrs. W. J. Fell pre-
siding. The members' joined in
singing Hymn 270, followed by.
prayer by Miss Vera Hambley,
Scripture lesson wie taken from.
Psalm 51 and read by Mrs. 0.
Reed. Mrs. W. 1, Fell gave a
meditation on Lenten. A solo
"The Holy City" sung by Mrs.
Leslie Millet was enjoyted, Mrs.
Russell Worderi gage a very•in-
spiring message on the assur-
ance, joys. and triumphs of Eas-
ter, time. Hymn '101 was sung.
