at the, home of Mr. and Mrs.
Nelson McClure for the lat-
ter's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Austin Dexter, Blyth,.. who
observed their fifty-first wed-
ding anniversary on Wednes-
day. Those attending includ-
ed Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Ball
and family, Auburn, Mr. and
Mrs: . John Sanderson and
Sylvia, Blyth, Mr. Bob Trick
and Mr.. and Mrs. Leonard
Hoffman of Clinton and
Stewart and Barbara Gloush-

reys in Paris. Mr. William

A voice of appreciation was
expressed to members of Fideli-
ty Lodge, IOOF, for the newly
decorated hall.
Several games of euchre were
played following the meeting.
Winners were: high, Mrs.
Barney Hildebrand and Leslie
Oliver; lone hands, -Miss Bessie
Davidson and Andrew Turnbull;
law, Mrs. Charles Reeves and
Bob Dalton.

chener, was voted "Snowball
Queen" at the school's 16th An-
nual Graduation Dinner Dance
at Holiday Inti. She received her
crown from, Miss Joanne Krug,
last year's quen.
Candidates are chosen on the
basis of personality, poise, pop-
ularity, initiative and scholastic
sthnding.
Lloyd G. Lougheed, school
principal, presented the Queen
with an engraved sterling silver
bracelet. Miss .Boshart is . a
daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Enos
Boshart of Seaforth.

OBITUARY
JAMES RUSSELL MAKINS
James Russell Makins, Clin-
ton, passed away suddenly in
Clinton Public Hospital, Friday,
February 17 of a heart attack,
in his 72nd year.
He was a member of the Clin-
ton Branch 140 of the Canadian
Legion and was a veteran of
World War One. „
He pioneered in Northern
Saskatchewan for 20 years, then
returned to .the East and in
1942 was married to Beth For-
rest of Clinton. They, resided in
Loaflon for a, time then return-
ed to Clinton, taking up resi-
dence there until time of his
death.
He was the eldest son of the
ate Williamand- Mary. Ann
Makins of Stanley Township.
Surviving are his wife, Beth
nd one brother, Lloyd of Bay-
ieid.
The funeral service was con-
ucted on Monday, February 20,
y Rev. It U. MacLean, minis-
er of St. Andrew's Presbyterian
hurch of which he was a mem-
er. Burial was in Baird's cera-
tery.
The Legion conducted a ser-
ce at the Ball Funeral Home
unday afternoon.
Pallbearers were six nephews,
Arnold Makins, Grant Webster,

ng, Howard. Greens and Frank

Flower -bearers were Charles
inger, Woodstock; C. W. Ber-
trand, Rielunond Hill; Malcolm
