The young doctor, a strong ad- vocate of early ambulation, was explaining it to a patient about to have his appendix removed. "A few hours after the opera- tion I want you to sit on the edge of your bed and dangle your legs, After lunch 'I want you to stand on your feet for a few minutes. Mrs. Don Wood led in prayer. A reading "Or- deal is Over" bv Mrs. Wood followed and Mr. Turnbull showed pictures of their trip to Mexico. Mrs. Wood gave the courtesy' remarks. FIRST CHURCH. WMS First Church WMS met in the Centennial . room on Thursday and .opened with a prayer by the president Mrs. Francis Cole- man. Mrs.' McKay gave the treasurer's report for 1966 and Mrs. Helen McMillan, a 'group leader, took over for the re- mainder of the meeting. Mrs. Drover read the scripture les- son taken from Acts first chap- ter, verses 1-14. The study book for this year, "The Church Grows in Canada" was taken by Mrs. Helen McMillan,. Mrs. Teb- butt and Mrs. John McGregor and Mrs. McKay read the Glad Tidings prayer. TUCKEHSMITH UNIT The Tuckersmith unit of the Brucefield church met at the hone of Mrs. John Henderson on Tuesday with an attend- ance of 13. Miss M. Swan and Mrs. John Broadfoot were in charge of the dedication. Miss Swan opened the meeting with a few moments of silent prayer in memory of a mem- ber, Mrs. E. Jarrott. Miss Swan gave a reading "Let us remember this day of prayer". The scripture .was. read from Matt, 6. Mrs. Berry in the ab- sence: of Mrs. Allan received theoffering dedicated by Miss Swan. Stuart was chairman and Mel Graham was appointed secretary for the meeting. Fin- ancial reports were given by all organizations.
