to persons committee, Coun.
Donaldson said that some dis-
cussion .had, been held concern-
ing a salary schedule and hours
of work of the police force but
that no formal report was pre-
sented since the meeting was at
the end of the year and it was
not known the committee that
would be responsible in. the
present year. He said now the

Responsibilty for negotiating
Completion of the Arena pro-
ject ' will • remain with 'Reeve
Dalton,- The initial studies had
been undertaken by the gener-
al government committee of
which he was chairman last
year but this year the respen-
sibility was transferred to the
public works committee since
Reeve Dalton will head this
committee.
'Discussing the project, Reeve
Dalton said a number of om-
issions- and deviations in the
work as compared with the spec-
ifications had been noted by
the architect and these had been
indicated to the contractor. Cor-
rective action was required by
niid January. In the nreantinie
progress payments were being
withheld. •
Court. Kelly asked whether or
not the changes had been car-
ried out as a result of author-
ity having been given the con-
tractor. He wondered whether
ties should be explored when
discussions were held with the
architect and contractor.
