This charge will continue for _ an additional 27 years. The annual frontage charge may now be commuted by a single cash payment with considerable saving in total cost to the prop- erty owner: I rorttage charges are 40 cents per foot frontage plus an addi- iional 25 cents per foot for commercial property. The commutation charge for 1667 will be $4.88 per foot with an addition $3.055 per foot for com- mercial property. - As an example, a residential property with 60 foot frontage pays $24.00 per year' frontage charge' and in the next 27 years will pay a total • of $648.00. A commercial property with the same -frontage will pay an additional '$405.00 during the 27 years for a total payment of $1,053.00. The owner of the residential property can now commute these charges by a cash payment of $293.28 for a saving, of $354.72. The commercial prop- erty owner can make a cash payment of $476.78 thereby saving $576.22. Property owners wishing to takeadvantage of this opportunity must do so- on or before January 13, 1967. • , E. M. GARDINER Funeral services were held in Toronto on Thursday, Deeem ber lst, for Mrs. Peter B. Gar- diner, who died Tuesday, Nov- ember 29, 1966, following a , long illness. The service was con- ducted by the Rev. C, Andrew, Lawson, minister of Timothy Eaton Memorial United Church Mrs. Gardiner was born in McKillop Township, the daugh- ter of the late William Hack well and Isabella McDonald. In 1910, she was married to Peter Battison Gardiner and went as a_ bride to the farm. new owned by her brother Thomas. In 1918 they moved do Walton where they lived until 4934, when they moved to Toronto. Mr.' Gardin er died in 1951. Until about a year ago, Mrs, Gardiner had taken an active art in several of the organiza- tions of Timothy Eaton Memor- ial Church, having held offices in the Margaret Phillips Group and the Community Service Group. She is survived by one daugh- ter, Vera M.' of Toronto, a sis- ter, Mrs. Emily L. Naylor of Al- bany, New York, and a brother Thomas Hackwell of Walton, and several nieces and nephews. CECIL SMITH There passed away suddenly in Windsor on Monday, Nov. 28th, Cecil Smith, a former resi- dent of Seaforth. 'He was the eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John H. Smith. Mr. Smith left' here in 1918 and was with the Werlich Company of Toron- t9 for many 'years. He is sur- vived by his wife, the former Violette Adam of, Toronto, one daughter, Mrs. John Lawrence, Toronto and two brothers, Earl of North Bay, Wilfred, Toronto and one sister, Mrs. Cade Smith of Toronto. There are four grandchildren.
