Mrs. Lorne Cronin and Mrs. John Nagle reported on the Lit- urgical Synod in Lyndon, which they attended. The one thing that impressed them the most was the unison between priests, nuns and lay people. Mrs. L. Cronin who attend- ed the family workshopat the synod, said she was glad to hear the new ideas on the change of the Catholic Liturgy. Mrs. Robert Engel, Mitchell, gave the members a brief out- line on liquid embroidery which she does for a hobby. She displayed some of the work she had clone. The St. Patrick's League has purchased eight books for the Parish lending library, three of which were drawn for as prizes. The winners took them home to read and will return them at the next meeting. Mr and Mrs. Jesse Quigley and son, Clarkston, Mich., with Mr. and Mrs. Dan Costello. She was attended by Mrs. Shirley Elliott. of Essex as mat- ron of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Mary Parkinson, Lon- don and Miss Margaret Russell, London and junior bridesmaids were Miss Deborah Wallace and Miss Susan- Elliott. They were gowned alike in French silk, moss green plush velvet, styled in empire line. The puritan 'sleeves and back 'panel were matching peau de soie. Match- ing -headpieces and bronze mums completed their ensemble. Groomsman was Mr. Joseph Uniac, Guelph and guests were ushered by Laverne Wallace, Cromarty, and John Myles, Lon don, cousin of the groom. A reception was held in the church parlours following the ceremony. Tables were decorat- ed with white tapers and bronze mums. The bride's mother received in a raspberry red lace over taffeta dress, with matching feather hat and pink orchid corsage. The groom's mother chose a blue crepe dress with feather list in shades of blue and a white or- chid corsage. The bride chose a camel hair suit with brown leather acces- sories and a corsage of bronze feathered mums for travelling on a wedding trip to northern Ontario.
