Patrick Cronin exchanged wed-
ding vows in St, Columban
Roman. Catholic Church on Sat-
urday, October lst, at 11. a.m
Father J. L. Coughlin officiated.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ryan of
St. Columban and the groom is
the son of the late Mr. and Mrs
Joseph Cronin, Dublin.
The bride was given in mar-
raige by her father. Her gown
was styled of silk organza and,
alencon lace, featuring a shalr"
low scooped neckline, elbow -
length sleeves and basque waist
line. The bodice sleeves and
sides ofgown were adorned with
matching alencon lace. Interest
in the back centred on a group-
ing of unpressed pleats cascad-
ing into a chapel length train,
caught with a butterfly bow.

Annual Appeal Will Be Conducted by
•Seaforth Branch 156 of The Royal Canadian Legion, on
crystals and seed pearls and
held• a three-tier french silk il-
lusion veil. She carried a bou-
quet of white crysanthemums
and stephanotis, centred with a
white orchid.
She was attended by Miss'il-
een O'Rourke as maid .of hon-
or and Mrs. James Cronin, sis-
ter ofthe bride, as bridesmaid.
Miss Sally O'Rourke was flow-
ergirl. The were dressed iden-
tical° in emerald green sateau
peau dresses featuring a shal-
low scooped neckline, elbow -
length sleeves and empire waist,
with bow at front. Sleeves and
waistline were trimmed with
matching lace appliques. Back
interest centred on a watteau
train. They carried bouquets of
yellow roses:"
Mr. Frank Cronin and Mr. Jo-
seph Cronin were gromsman
and ushers were Mr. Ron Ryan
and Mr. Clarence Cronin. Bob-
bie Cronin was ringbearer.
Mrs. V. J, Lane was organist
and accompanied the soloist, Mr.
Jack Lane as he sang "Ave
Maria" and "Panis Angelicous".
'A reception was held at the
Seaforth Legion Hall. The
bride's mother received in blue
velvet dress with. black acces-
sories and a blue velvet hat.
A white orchid corsage com-
piete"d her ensemble.
For a wedding trip to New
Orleans the bride travelled in
an alabaster grey three piece'.
suit with black fox collar and
cuffs, black accessories and a
white orchid corsage.
Guests were present from De-
troit, Dublin, Mitchell, Seaforth,
Brussels; London, Kitchener,
Park Hill, Sebringville and
'Stratford.
Mr. and Mrs. -Cronin will re -
,side In Dublin.

order that the maximuM amount

So that The Salvation Army
can more directly serve the cit-
izens of Seaforth, a local ser-
vice unit has been organized to
dispense emergency assistance
to those in need. Twenty per
cent of all money donated to
The Salvation Army 'from this
area will remain in the Sea -
forth area. ,The . service unit

was a dinner guest of Mr. and
Mrs. Dalton Malcolm on Wed-
nesday and attended the plow-
ing match at Seaforth.
Mr. and 'Mrs. Lawrence Han-
non had as their guests on Sun-
day, Mrs. Rhea Jeffery, Staffa,
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Bushfield,
Mr. and Mrs. Angus 4kEarl
Whalens and Mrs. Ruby Reed,
and -all attended Zion anniver-
sary.

Sympathy is extended to the
family of the late Leon Opsomer
who passed away in London
hospital, on Thursday and was
buried in Dublin on Saturday
morning.

A Thanksgiving poem was read
by Mrs. Wilfred Annis. Poems
were read b» Mrs. Norman
Bushfield, Mrs. Ross Pepper,
Mrs. Dalton Malcolm and Mrs.
Lawrence Barker read scripture
followed with prayer. A chap-
ter from the study book, Bra-
zil was read by Mrs. Lorne Ai-
kens. A' ' story "Thanksgiving
Pig" was read by Mrs. Glen
Pepper. Mouth organ 'selection
was contributed by Mrs. R. S.
Aikehs. and Mrs. Charles Roney,
,a piano instrumental. Mrs. Gor-
don Aikens had charge of the
'business. Eleven members ans-
wered- the roll call with a
Thanksgiving verse. Mrs' Wil-
fred, Annis closed the , meeting
with .prayer. Lnrich was served
by Mrs. Statton, assisted by
Mrs. Lorne McKinnon and Mrs.
Glen Pepper. . •

regional activities of The Sal-
vation Army such as our Beth-
