charge of devotions and lunch.
Mrs. Ronald HinZ was the pian
ist for the hymns. Russell Shol-
dice spoke on "Education" and
the work of the Area School
Board" of which he is a mem-
ber for Logan Township. A
short discussion followed. Slides
taken by Joanne Elligsen were
shown by her mother, Mrs.' Ed-
gar Elligsen, of the United Na-
tions tour to New York which
she was on this summer: Mrs.
Elligsen also read the cora-
Mentary which Joanne had pre-
pared.
Business was conducted by
president, Jack Gloor. Jack
read an address and presented
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Sholdice
with a plaque as a remembrance
after belonging to the organiza-
tion since it was organized 16
years ago.
Mr. and Mrs, Wayne Beuer-
mann, London, spent Sunday
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Manuel Beuermann.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gilbert
attended his uncle's funeral,
Mr. William Gilbert, at West
Lorne, on Friday. Robert acted
as ballbearer.

THOMAS JOHNSTON
Thomas Johnston, 85, of Wal -
ten, died in Seaforth Community
Hospital, Wednesday, Sept. 28.
He was a san of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Thomas Johnston.
Born in this district, he had
lived here all his life. He was
the last surviving member of
his family. He was not married,
and was a carpenter. Surviving
are nieces and nephews. The
body was at the D. A. Rann
funeral home, Brussels, where
the funeral servic-e was held
Saturday at 2 p.m., with Rev.
Arthur Higginbotham of Duff's
United Church, Walton, officia-
ting. Burial was in Brussels
cemetery.
