Red sig- nal lights have replaced the amber ones on the front of school buses in Ontario ... and now motorists approaching the bus from the front must STOP when the red signal lights are flashing and must remain stopped until the signal lights are off. Lionel For- tune read the address and the gifts were opened by the bride, the bride's mother, Mrs. Lucien Hemberger and 'Mrs. Clarke. Miss Hemberger replied thank- ing all guests for their kindness. (Ontario Department of Transport photo). Dublin Institute Talks Expo '67 Trip Mrs. Thomas Butters; the president of the Dublin . Wo- men's Institute, was in • charge of the meeting held Tuesday evening, Sept. 27, at the, home of Mrs. Harold Pethick. After opening with the Ode; and the Mary Stewart Collect, Mrs. But- ters welcomed guests and mem- bers. The coli call was answer- ed . by each member telling what she found most interest- ing in present day education. On the same theme, Mrs. Har- old Pethick . read a humorous article concerning a school bus, entitled "The Menace In My Life". Mrs. Butters reported that instead of holding an August meeting, a number of members and friends had attended a • mat- inee performance of "The Sound of Music" in London. The minutes of the previous meeting were adopted as read and the correspondence dealt with. It was decided to contribute to UNESCO gift coupon plan No. 367 which will 'assist pio- neer Institute • work - in the Northwest Territories. South Perth District Women's Institute proposed excursion by rail to Expo '67, Montreal, in July of next year was discussed. The excursion is not to be limited to Institute members only. Plans were completed for the celebration of the tenth- anni- versary of the organization of the Dublin Branch. which is, to be held in October. A report from the district ex- ecutive meeting was given by Mrs. Charles Frier}4%y .outlining plans for the County Rally, and for the district's participation at the International Plowing Match to be held at Seaforth in 'October. A representative from each Branch in the district is Perth County Hospitality tent on Thursday, Oct. 13th and again on Friday, the 14th. The meeting was then turn- ed ver to Mrs. Joseph Dorsey, cons. er of the education com- mittee, who introduced the guest speaker, Mrs. Elwood Rowe of Atwood. Mrs. Rowe showed pictures of Spain, the 'outlying islands of Majorca :and Minorca as well as the Canary Islands. Mrs. Rowe commented on the beautiful parks, statues and buildings in the cities of Madrid and Barcelonia, on the olive, almond and orange groves and of the ruggedaspect of the coastal -"areas. In addition there were a number of souven- irs and items purchased in that country. Mrs. Harold Pethick conduct- ed a contest entailing recogni- tion p of advertised products from displayed pictures. The winner was Mrs. Russell Kramp. Mrs. John Burchill thanked the hostess and refreshments `were served by the hostess and the committee in charge,... Mrs. Russell Kramp and Mrs. Thos. Butters.
