JOSEPH THORNTON
A Well known resident of Mc-
Xillop in the person of Joseph
Thornton, RR 2, Walton, passed
away in Seaforth Community
hospital on Saturday, Sept. 14th,
fellewing an illness of one year.
The deceased was born in Mc-
=loptownship and was in his
80th year. He was married in
1012, to Mary A. Ifistner, who
survives, together with one
daughter, (Della) Mrs. E. C.
Regele of McKillop. His parents
were the late George Thorn-
ton and Mary Kners. Mr. Thorn-
ton was a member of the Evan-
gelical United Brethren Church.
The funeral was held from the
R. S. Box funeral home, with
Rev. M. Shatto officiating. There
are four grand children and 21
great grand children.
The pall bearers were Arville
Beuernran, William Dennis,
Glen McNichol, W. J. Leeming,
Charles Boyd, David Watson;
the flower • bearers were Paul
McCallum, Ronald McCallum,
Murray GIauville, David Glan-

There passedf away in Niag,
ara Fall, on Sept. 12th, Loran
Pepper, son of John Pepper of
Clinton, in his 60th- year. He
was born in Clinton and had
been a resident of Niagara
was a member of the Niagara
Falls Fire Brigade and prior to
Faris for 39 years, where he
that he was a member of the
Stamford Fire Brigade. He pas-
sed away in his ,sleep at the
fire hall. He resided at 2375
Thorold Rd., Niagara Falls.
He is survived by his wife,
Helen Janette Hay and two
brothers, Raymond, of Clinton;
and Randal of Sault Ste. Marie.
The remains rested at the
funeral chapel of Hetherington
and Deem where a service Will
be held, to be followed by a
service at the chapel of G. A.
Whitney, Seaforth, on Wedees-
day, at 2 p.m. Interment will be
in • Baird's cemetery. •
