Resumes Meetings
Carmel Church WMS met
Thursday last week with pre-
sident, Mrs. .Earl Campbell
presiding. The devotional was
conducted by Mrs. Archie
Hoggarth and Mrs. Harry
Snell, Articles were read on
"India" by Mrs. Hoggarth and
"Nigeria" by Mrs. Snell.
Plan Centennial Project
Legion Ladies Auxiliary
met with Mrs. Harold Camp-
bell, president, in the chair.
A bowling team was named to
go to the Bowling Tourna-
ment at Wingham and plans,
went serious surgery. He is
party to be observed in Oc-
tober when other Auxiliary
groups will. be special guests.
The Centennial project was
discussed and bingo was play-
ed and pot luck lunch was
served.
Mrs. Glen Bell Wins
Amber Rebekah Lodge met
Wednesday evening with 20
visitors from Goderich who
presented the travelling gavel
to the lodge. Past Noble
Grand's of the lodge occupied
the officers chairs. Cards were
played and high was' Mrs.
Glen Bell; in a draw Mrs.
Amos Osbaldeston of Goder-
ich was. the winner.
Dies in Holland
Mrs. Harry . Van Wieren,
RR 2 Hensall, received a tele-
phone call from Holland on
Thursday , evening . advising
her of the sudden death ear-
lier that day, of her. mother,
Mrs, Anthony Tol of Boskoop,
Holland. Sury'iving are her
husband, two sons and two
daughters.' The late Mrs. Tol
visited her daughter and son -
.in -law Mr. and Mrs. Van
Wieren here about five years'
ago.

Hospital, London, for the past

in South Huron Hospital, Ex-

merly of Hensall, is a patient
in St. Joseph's Hospital, Lon-
don, where he recently under-
went serious surgery. Te is
doing nicely.

A pearl and crystal crown held
her veil of French illusion and
ivy. Miss Rosemary Lansink
Seaforth, was maid- of honor,
and the bridesmaids were Miss
Mary Eckert, Seafoith, Miss
Marie Nicholson, Monkton, Miss
Lorraine Talbot, Kippen, and
Mrs. Kenneth Wright, Stratford.
They were gowned in daffodil
yellow French crepe gowns
trimmed with Chantilly lace fea-
turing a deep scoop neckline,
empire bodice and lace' bishop
sleeves and siinl fitting -skirt.
Floral clusters held their match-
ing bubble pouffe yellow veils
and they. carried coppertone
chrysanthemums, stephanotis.
and ivy. Miss Sharon and Deb-
bie Williams, nieces of the
bride, were flower - girls wear-
ing dresses similar to those of
the other attendants. Best man
was Paul Betties, Goderich, bro-
ther of the bridegroom and Dan-
iel McMillan, Staffa, Gary Al-
exander, Winthrop, Kerry
Campbell and Daniel Murray,
Seaforth, ushered the guests.
The wedding dinner was served
in the Legion Hall,'Seaforth, the
bride's mother receiving in a
French bl e laee dress with
matching three -quarter -length
coat. She was assisted by the
bridegroom's mother wearing a
two-piece gran% mantelisse
dress with matching accessories.
For a honeymoon in Northern
Ontario the bride wore a tur-
quoise lace jacket and a dress
to match and black accessories.r
On their` return Mr. and Mrs.
Betties will live at Seaforth.
Guests attended the wedding
from Flint and Detroit, lUfich.,
Toronto, Kitchener, London, In-
diana, Goderich, Seaforth and
district.
