WHEN A HUSBAND FLIRTS
DEAR DORIS — I'm alone
everyday taking care of our six
childreq and when I go out
with my husband I would like
both of us to enjoy ourselves,
but I can't with his wisecracks,
such as: "Meet my big woman!"
Then he'll start flirting with
other women, picking them up,
having them sit on his knee.,,
slapping on the legs those who
wear shorts, dancing with them
all.
If other men) wouldn't stand
hip Tor-tne or dance with me, 1'
fall through the floor. I'm 29
years of age and love to do! any
kind of dance, and can, since
dancing is in he. If I twist he
laughs, and says I look stupid
but the rest look great. •
When I ask him to behave; or
act his age he gets mad. When
he gets home he'll blow his top
about how foolish I looked; calls
me' jealous and selfish.
Should I be like the other
women and fight back or drop
the parties with him and stay
home?

button up your Hp when he
carries on; or laugh in an in-
dulgent way. Leave it to the
lady friends and their husbands
to put him in his place, if need
be.
Then twist all you like. And
when he objects, remind him
that you are both out to have
fun.
A man has to take responsi-
bility for his own actiobs, and
their consequences; and has -to
know you'll leave to it. You
can't be his conscience, nor can
he be yours.
J.f_you_ can live and let live,'
and laugh a little, you might be
'taking a big step 'towards a bet-
ter marriage.
DEAR DORIS Is it proper
for a girl' to accept a date right
after she has been introduced
to the boy? She didn't accept it.
Would it be proper for her to
invite him to her house for a
wiener roast or a barbecue par-
ty,..with a group of young peo-
ple.?
- Teen Troubles
DEAR TROUBLES — She
obeyed her impulses. She was
right.
Yet if he was a good friend of
someone she knew 'well, there
might be an exception to this.
If nothing is known of a
young fellow's background, it's
far better to use the wiener
roast approach. A group do is
an easier way to get acquainted
anyway., than a solo date.
DEAR DORIS — We are two
girls, ages 13 and 14. This is our
problem: How do you tell a 79 -
year -old lady who is almost crip-
pled with rheumatism, who is
almost blind, and wears a hear-
ing aid, that she would be bet-
ter off in a home for the aged?
We work for this lady, the
work consisting of running er-
rands, cleaning her house, and
Making her supper.
We, as well as her family,
want her to go to such a home,
but she refuses because she is
very sentimental about her
house and all the joys and sor-
rows she and her late husband.
have shared.
She ,expects help from her
neighbors, as her children are a
distance away. Her frequent
phone calls to us bother not
only us, but also our parents. No
matter how much we do for her
she complains and asks for sym-
pathy.
In the fall our school work
will leave us little time for her,
and we would like to see her
settled in the excellent local
home.
Joe -Girls
DEAR GIRLS — The ties
that bind a Granny to a house
full of memories can also blind
her to the fact that she can
hardly see to get around in it.
It is not your task to tell
her so; this is a job for her
daughters and sons. All you can
do is retire from the situation
by notifying her that school
work will deprive you • from
coMing at her bidding.
Social workers who like old
people and who come up against
this stone wall from time to
time will work with family
members if they are asked to.
Could your mother discuss it
with one of the family.
To Groom's Sister—Go ahead
and make your "funny speech"
about your young brother. He'll
love it. Get the M.G. to make a
special spotforyou on the pro-
gram. Finish, of course, with a
warm welcome to your new sis-
ter-in-law.
