sleeves. A detachable train
with matching lace applique
flowed softly from the waist-
line. Her veil of silk illusion
net was held in place by a
circlet of seed pearls. She
wore a single strand of pearls.

Receiving guests at the re-
ception held in the Blyth
Legion Hall was the bride's
mother wearing a pink linen
cress trimmed with nylon
lace, with matching hat and
white accessories. She wore
a two-piece dress of blue
flowered silk with matching
hat and corsage of white
roses. The assistants at the
reception were Mrs. Ronald
Driscoll, Mrs. John Driscoll,
Mrs. Robert Saunercock, Miss
Karen Dohnage, and Miss Jan-
et Smith.
For a wedding trip to Nor-
thern Ontario, the bride chose
a pink linen sheath dress with
lace bodice, white accessories
and a corsage of white roses.
On their return, the couple
will reside on the groom's
farm at RR 1 Belgrave.
Prior to her wedding, the
bride's mother entertained at
a trousseau tea at her home.
Shower hostesses . were Mrs.
Gordon Howatt and Mrs.
Boyd Driscoll. Also the Lad-
ies' Guild of Trinity Anglican

ceedings for a new Tile Drain-
age By -Law and the clerk
was instructed to advertise a
meeting to consider the By -
Law.

He said, "The book is the
story of how the County was
Settled. How an imaginative
and, unique plan was conceived,
of the difficulties and successes
which went into the making of
a great county, and of the kind
of. men and women who were
invOlved as, year -after year, a
vast primeval forest was trans-
formed into rich, productive
farmland dotted by large and
small settlements which were
centres of education, religion
and commerce."
The book tells the story of
early pioneers including John
Galt who first conceived the
idea of settlement in this erea
and Colonel Van Egmond, weal-
thiest landowner in the district,
who opened.his heart and purse
to the settler but died a wretch-
ed man in prison following the
Rebellion of 1837.
Other chapter recount the de-
velopment of agriculture, the
struggle for schools, detailed
accounts of the growth' of town-
ships in the north and, south, the
towns of Seafotth, Goderich,
Clinton, Exeter and Wingham
and the villages which hegan as
crossroad.
The hardcover book has 328
pages and 16 illustrations. The
nook was_printed by The Ryer-
son Press, Toronto. Copies are
available' at The Expositor of-
fice or from County Clerk, John
Berry, Goderich, at a cost of $5.

Mrs. George Walker has re-
turned from Victoria Hospital,
London, whei4e she underwent
eye surgery. Before returning
home she visited with her
daughter and son-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. George Gould, London.

enjoyed a month long trip to
the west coast and California,
returning byway of the United
States. While in Saskatoon they
were guests of Mrs. Shirray's
uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur
Johns and family.
