R. Durand officiating. Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose, a floor length gown of ligoda. The bodice was styled with a sab- rine neckline and elbow length sleeves. The skirt fell from a slightly raised waistline at the front and dipped+to the natural waistline at the back. The sleeves, waistline, hemline and train were highlighted by lily of the valley lace. The gown al- so featured a detachable cath- edral train. She carried a bou- quet of red roses. The bride was attended by Ilene Shea, Dublin, as a maid of honor, and bridesmaids, Ver- onica Price, Stratford and Mary Regier, Windsor. They wore gowns of candy pink shantastic with scooped necklines, lantern sleeves trimmed .with matching Swiss Guipure lace, natural waistlines and sheath skirts. They carried bouquets of yel- low daisy mums. Groomsman was Joseph Las - saline, London, brother of the groom. Two other brothers, Claude, of London, and Vincent, of Centralia, were the ushers, along with Jim Shea, Dublin, News of St. Columban Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cronin and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Smith have gone to Westaskwin, Alta., to visit Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cron- in and family. • Mr. and Mrs. C. J. O'Neill and children, Kirkland Lake, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hicknell. Mr. and Mrs. Auguste D'uch- arme have returned from Dry- den, where they `visited Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ducharme for two weeks. Mr,, and Mrs. • Leo Murray spent last week at Ipperwash, + Mr. and Mrs. Don Brady and I family, London, and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Sloan and Angela, Grafton, visited Mr. and Mrs. James Sloan;Sr. Mrs. Mary Feeney is visiting in Kitchener. J. Lane. Mrs. Blanche Reynolds, Kit- chener, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Jack McIver. Mrs. Dan Williams, Jackson- ville, Fla., is visiting her sister, Mrs. Mary Williams. Miss Mary Beth Downey is visiting with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Carol Hauck, in Kitchener. Friends Honor • Bride -Elect • Prior to her• marriage to Mr. Glen Eaton, Miss Karen Kerr was honored recently at a shower at S.S. No. 6, McKillop. A program included a "piano duet by Sharon and Sandra Johnston, step dancing by Pat- sy and Donna Faye Storey, a piano solo by Jill Wheatley and songs by Donna and Darlene Henderson. Karen, with her.grandmother, Mrs. Little and the groom's mother, Mrs. Eaton, was palled, to the front and an address was read by Marie Scott. The Dublin men's choir also sang, Cousins of the bride, Jial>n and Pat Delaney, were the altar boys. The reception was held at the Brodhagen Community Centre. Guests attended from Goderich, Toronto, Brantford, Kitchener, London, Windsor.and Stratford. For the wedding trip to Northern Ontario and Quebec, the bride chose a lace dress, lined in yellow taffeta with pouffed sleeves and a portrait neckline. She also wore a large picture hit of minosoa suedine with other accessories in white and a corsage of red roses. The couple will reside in Tor- onto. The bride is a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing, London. A number of her class- mates . honored her with a mis- cellaneous shower prior to the wedding. WINCHELSEA Mrs. Newton Clarke, Exe- ter, spent Thursday night with Mrs. John Coward. Mrs. Colin Gilfillan and Barbara spent the weekend at Bayfield. A large number of Elim- ville and Winchelsea ladies and girls attended a shower for Janet Skinner at Elim- ville United Church Friday evening. • Kathy Hern gave a miscel- laneous shower at her home Monday evening . for Janet Skinner, with 21 girls pres- ent. Many friends of Mr. and Mrs. John McAsb called on them at their home on Sun- day on the •occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Don Barker and sons, King City, are spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. Fred McClymont. Friends of John Ostrom ,are sorry to hear he is a patient in Victoria Hospital, London, and hope he will soon be feel- ing better. - Mir. and Mrs. A. J. Mustard have returned from their trip, to the east coast. Mr. Harold Dowson and Brenda visited MT. • and Mrs. Earle Tipping, - Danny and David Sunday. Mrs. Dowson returned home with them af- ter spending the weekend. The -sympathy of the com- munity is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Tipping and sons and the Dawson families on the death of Douglas Tipping, born on Sunday, July 10, who died on Monday, July 11. Burial was made in Bay- field cemetery Tuesday, with Rev. Morrison officiating. The Varna Church .picnic . was held July 13 at Bayfield. Sports were led by Mrs. M. Hayter. The program conclud- ed with a ball game.
