COUNCIL CONTINUE$ -TALKS

ing,council decided to take no
action on a request from Coun-
ty Council to pass a motion re-
quiring all entrance ways in the
town to be standard. Tucker -
smith council" passed the mo-
tion last week,.. but BieKillop on
the other hand filed the propos-
al.
In opposing the motion, Coun-
cillor George Hildebrand said
since County 'Council has pas-
sed the motion, it will apply to
county roads in the town and it
is not needed for all town
streets.
Councillor Cardno said, 'We
have, enough 'trouble enforcing
all the laws we have now."
Council endorsed a motion by
Norfolk county to prevent hy-
dro from receiving additional
costs when it is necessary for
them to reallacate lines. At
present the hydro receive 50
per cent of the cost of the la-
bor involved but the hydro pas-
sed a motion at their meeting
in Sault Ste. Marie asking to be
also reimbursed for the cost
of material.
House Numbering
Council were informed a
number of townfolks still have
not put up house numbers.
Mayor Flannery said a final
date for putting up the num-
bers will have to be set.. He
said he hoped council could get
the co-operation of citizens in
finishing the job.
Concerning the centennial
project, the mayor saki a new
proposal on the arena improve-
ment plan had been received
that day, but it had not been
possible to "obtain 'an -estimate
in time for the .meeting. He
said it certainly will be less
expensive than the earlier plan
but he still felt the cost could
be too high. '
Council approved a motion to
send clerk Ernest Williams and

CROP REPORT
Most farmers in Huron County
have practically rounded up
their first cut haying operatings.
Spring grains are well out in
head and wheat -is turning col-
or.
All crops are in need of rain,
If the dry spell continues,
spring grains and white beans
may be adversely affected.
Sugar beets,' in the area are
uneven in some fields. Canning
peas are yielding at least as well
as last year, but'later sown peas
need more moisture. Pastures
are beginning to suffer from the
dry conditions. Grain and can-
ning corn are making good use
of the heat units this year.

RESOLUTION No. 6, MODERN
MORALITY
WHEREAS many religious
leaders are securing the ear of,
the general public in the dis-
semination . of poisonous, anti-
biblical moral standards and
are openly • advocating pre -mari-
tal and extra -marital sex rela-
tionships, and
WHEREAS there is vocal
supportof such' • practices on
the part of some professed
Christian clergymen, and
WHEREAS the Word of God,
(the Bible) is unequivocally ex-

THEREFORE BE IT RESOL-
VED:
That the A.G.C. declare forth-
rightly its abiding faith in the
Scriptures on all matters of.
faith and conduct;
That we declare current de-
partures from its -morals stan-
dards as apostasy which will ul-

judgments of God; and
That we,urge our .churches to
make this position of the A.G.C.
crystal clear to the ,communities
they serve both by pulpit min-
