THE LONG BOWLING schedule which lasted throughout 'the winter at Seaforth. Lanes
ended recently. The numerous bowling addicts in the area can now look: forward to fall, when
once again the league will start and the pins begin to' fall. The Legion team of bowlers were
one of the team champions in the area. They won the women's division of the town' league.

opened the meeting. The sec=
retary's- report --was- given by
Elhabeth Fanson. The summer
assistant, Bill Byers was intro-
duced. Judging competition • is
to be held in Mitchell June 23.
Four Holstein cows were judg-
ed ' and reasons given.
Mrs.Mary Miller has been
visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Ray-
mond Miller and family, Munro.
Mrs. Sam Norris visited with
Mr. and Mrs. James Norris and
family, Brampton and Mr. and
Mrs. James Lyall and family of
Agincourt.
Mr. and Mrs. John Temple-
man and family visited Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Maver and

Miss Kaye Worden has com-
pleted her second year at the
University of Western Ontario
and is visiting with her par-
ent, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Wor-
den and Marg, .before -leaving
for Banff, Alberta, where she
has, secured summer employ-
ment.
NEWS OF THE WEEK IN VARNA
The Young People held a
Variety Concert in the Town-
ship Hall, Monday evening, to
raise funds for new choir
gowns.
A -film "The..St. Lawrence -
Seaway" was shown followed
by a tap dance number by
Cherryle and Linda Webster.
Wendy Mustard played a piano
solo and Peggy McAsh gave a
comic reading. Albert Craig
sang and played two numbers
on the guitar.

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Pepper
were in Mallon to meet their
daughter, Miss Gloria Ann Pep-
per, R.N., who 'flew in from
Bella Bella, on a
three-week
vacation.
Mr. and Mrs. George Pepper
visited Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence
Barker Monday.
Mrs. Mary Malcolm' received
word her cousin, Mrs. Mary Lay-
ton, Clinton, had taken a stroke
and is now in Clinton Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Ham-
mon, Mitchell, visited Mr. and
Mrs. George Pepper, Friday eve-
ning.
Mr. and Mrs. James Brough-
ton, Atwood, visited Mr. and
Mrs. Fergus Lannin, Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Pepper
and Gloria Ann were in Kitchen-
er Monday where Gloria Ann
attended a shower for her girl
friend,, whom she will pe a
bridesmaid for Saturday. ,
Miss Betty Ann Barker, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs, Lloyd Bar-
ker, went by plane to Montreal
for the weekend, to visit her
cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Nor-
ris.
Mr. and Mrs. George Pepper,
Mitchell visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Lawrence Barker.
We are sorry to , report Mrs.
Rena Stacey is not doing as well
in London Hospital, as we would
like to see her.

Mr. Stiver said guidance was
extremely important for and!'

tion to the pupil and makes it
easier for both pupil and teach-

try to find out why a pupil is
not working and what causes
frustration in tlie student. r
He said a guidance counsellor
helps them express their feel-
ings in interviews. He said their
duties included advising stud-
entswhat subjects they need to
get into certain universities
and testing their learning, Capa-
city.
He pointed out counsellors try
to give the students a first-hand
look at industry in large plants
and have company interviews
with students 'intending . to go
into this line of work.
Mrs. 0. Oke presided . .at the
meeting. The guest speaker was
introduced by Mrs. J. Carnochan
and thanked by Mrs. G. Heard.
