Parents Are guests of
Egmondville Youth Groups
The youth groups of Eg-
mondville United Church held
their annual father -son and
mother -daughter banquet Thurs-
day evening, The groups in -
elude Brownies, Guides, Cubs
and Scouts, and the Rover crew
prepared and served the meal.
Leaders for the girls' groups
are Mrs. Keith MacLean, Mrs.
Milton Dietz, Gayle Barry and
Mary Ann 11/lc:Grath.
Mrs. MacLean presented a
second-class guardian badge to
Marilyn Durst and second-class
and hostess badges to Janice
Eyre and Barbara Gemmell.
Mrs. Michael McGrath. Ladies'
Auxiliary, president for the
girls' groups. was chairman, and
Kenneth Moore heads those in
charge of the boys' groups.
Cubmaster is Mervin Nott,
with Mrs. Nott as assistant. Jimj
Boyes is Scoutmaster and Ken-
neth Smith, Rover Scoutmaster.
Jim Rose is secretary, and other
leaders are Edward Boyes, Robt.
Wallace, James McGregor and
Norman MacLean.
Rev. Alan Scott is chaplain
for ,all the groups.
District events coming up are
a Camporee for Perth and Hur-
on Scouts at Fanshaw Lake, to
be held May 24th weekend. It
is expected about 400 will at-
tend. The fifth Canada Rover
Moot is to be held on Vancou-
ver Island this summer.
Ronald Eyre,_ chairman of the
Centennial -Tour Committee for
Perth district, said the tour
would be made to the Maritime
Provinces for three weeks in
August, 1967. It is expected at
least 190 boys, between 13 and
18 years, will attend. There
will be 43 leaders, in charge of
the five buses. Ottawa, Upper
Canada Village and Expo '67
are to 'be . points of call. The
total cost per boy is to be $125,
and total cost of the tour is
expected to be $26,000.

Dublin Guild
Holds Meeting
S.t. Mary's Anglican Guild,
Dublin, met at the home of Mrs.
Lloyd . Humphreys when Mrs.
William Smith, the president,
was in charge. Mrs. Elmer Kel-
ler led in the devotions, •using
the meditation on the scripture
and the prayer from the study
book, "The Upper Room." Min-
utes and 'financial report were
read by the secretary -treasurer,
Mrs. Roy Burchill. Nine mem-
bers answered the roll call.
Plans to place flowerson the
altar at Easter were discussed.
Mrs. Roy Burchill offered the
use of her hone for the next
meeting, April 19. It was de-

Seeks Aid
Of Huron
Meeting in Guelph Monday,
county councillors in Welling-
ton County set the pace as far
as long-term planning of the
Midwestern Ontario Develop-
ment Association is concerned,
when membership in MODA was
initiated on a county -wide basis.
This means all municipalities
and townships in ° Wellington
County are now members of
MODA. The total county fee of
$4,053.40 does not include the
City ,of Guelph which will be
assessed separately.. in the
amount of $3,500.00.
Under the new fee arrange-
ment, all municipalities and
townships will have two, re-
presentatives on the Association
Zone Committee. •
The Counties of Huron and
Perth will be asked to make a
similar decision regarding total
involvement and participation
on a county -wide basis at meet-
ings on March 25 and April 5,
respectively.

The Orange Lodge held a
euchre in the hall on Friday
evening with 11 tables in play.

Mrs. Cecil Neil; men's high,
Owen O'Brien; lone hands, Har-
ry Webber. A draw on a ham
was won by Max Switzer, and
low score went to Archie Levy.
Lunch was served and a social
hour enjoyed.
