returned home Wednesday night
from a three weeks' trip to
Mexico, California, Arizona and
Neva&
On Sunday, supper pests
with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Prid-
ham and Nancy Mae, of Crom-
arty, were: Mrs. Cliff Dow and
,Nelson, of Staffa; Mr. and Mrs.
JosephLostell and Lloyd, of
Kippen; Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Pridham, of Cromarty, and Mr.
and Mrs. Harold Parsons and
Jimmie, of Seaforth, on the oc-
casion of it being Nancy Mae's
first birthday.
A social evening was held at
SS: -No. 10, Tuckersmith, on
Friday evening in honor of Mr.
and Mrs. Winston Workman.
Despite the weather, a good
time was enjoyed playing euchre
with prize- -winners being: la-
dies'' high, Mrs. William Gib-
son; ladies' low, Mrs. Ed. Rob-
erts; men's high, Robert Bell;
men's low, Douglas McKay.
On behalf of the school sec-
tion, Mrs. L. Hoggarth extend-
ed best wishes to Mr. and Mrs.
Workman on their departure
from the commu-nity to take up
residence in Exeter. Mrs. John
McGregor and Mrs. Doug Mc-
Gregor presented them with a
small bookcase.
John Cooper, a patient in
South, Huron Hospital, Exeter,

The congregation of Hensel'
United Chur.ch sat down to a
dinner prepared by the UCW
in the new Christian Education
Building, prior to their annual
business meeting Wednesday
evening. A rouging sing -song,
with various members contri-
buting impromptu numbers fol-
lowed, with Mrs. Wiliam Fuss
at the piano. Murray Traquair
entertained with piano instru-
mentals, and Joyce Flynn with
two solo numbers. This was
followed by a brief devotional
period led by the minister, Rev.
Harold F. Currie. Minutes were
redd by Bill Mickle, clerk of
the congregation. The session
report was given by clerk Wal-
ter Spencer. Howard Scene 're-
ported for the nuninating com-
mittee.

United Church Women, given
by Miss Mary Goodwin, showed
that the allocation of .$1;400.00
had been met, as well as con-
tributing to the Building Com-
mittee, Committee of Stewards,
Christian Education. Committee
and the Funds, of both West -
miter College and the .nav
dining hall at the Goderkch
summer school cap site.
Redecorating and refurnish-
ing had been carried out at the
manse and new equipment pur-
chased for the • church kitchen.
•A report of the work accom-
plished by a group of women
in the Friendship and Visita-
tion Committee was presented
by Mrs. Pearl Passmore, con-
vener, arid Mrs. Harvey Keys,
treasurer.
Mr. Spencer and Mr. Row-
cliffe each spoke briefly on the
work of the building commit-
tee and on a further project
which they hope to carry
through before this work' is
completely finished, and to
which they hoped all would
give support. Further reports
were: Christian Education Com-
mittee with Clendon Christie as
Church School superintendent,
and Robert Reaburn, treasurer;
H -C, with Douglas Currie, presi-
dent, and Paul Drysdale, treas-
urer; Messengers, with Mrs. C.
Christie and Mrs. Cecil Pep-
per; church choir,' with Mrs. II.
Horton, preident, and Lynda
Mock, treasurer: Presbytery

Mr. Roweliffe expressed ap-
preciation to Miss Mary Good-

half of the congregation.

Elects 1966 Officers
'Frank L. Forrest was elected
people's warden and E. J. Rob-
erts Was reappointed rector's
-warden at the annual vestry
meeting of St. Paul's Anglican
Church, Hensall, Sunday eve-
ning. The meeting was preced-
ed—lry a congregational ' pot
luck supper. • -- ,
In his 'annual *report to the
congregation, the rector, the
ReV. J. Philip Gandon, com-
mended the Congregation for -
meeting their commitments in
full during 1965 .to the dioces-
an budget. Anglican World Nlis-
sibn and to the maintenance -
of therectory in Exeter. At
the same time, a considerable
amotint of wOrk had been ac-
complished on th,.‘ church build-
ing, including the painting of
the church interior.
The meeting accepted with
thanks the gift --of a picture,
Raphael's "Madonna and Child."
This picture has hung for many
years over the . altar of the
Anglican Church in Varna. The
.Varna churchwas. recently dos-
ed, -and the tector of Bayfield
offered thepicture to the Hen-
sall ecingregation." R was or-

winkle is now a member • St.
Paul's Church, Hensall. The

Funeral services for the late
Mrs. Rebecca Turner, 82, of
Clinton, who passed awaY Sun-
day at the home, of her daugh-
ter, Mrs. John Duckworth, God-

tle funeral home, Clinton, on
Tuesday, with burial in Bay-
field cemetery.
