George McCutcheon, chairman of the conservation advisory board, told the annual meeting of the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority in Brussels Thurs- day. - Mr. McCutcheon said that Un- til Colborne Township provides,. an access road, six -eights of a mile long, the 229 -acre Falls Reserve property cannot be. de- veloped. The property is on Lake Huron near Goderich and Benmiller, Reeve Hardy said the town- ship council and the authority were to meet on this matter next Tuesday. The access to the Falls Re- serve property is a 66 -foot right- of-way which does not .belong to the township. A number of similar rights-of-way exist, lead- ing to tourist camps, subdivi- sions and cottage development, the reeve said. "If we do the one for the;.: Maitland Valley (Authority) we would have to do the other ones. This is an expense we can't afford at present," said Reeve Hardy. _, . firm of planning consult- ants was'' engaged two ars Qua prodsce a design for development.. of , the.. area, . ,The design includes many types of recreation, from swimming and skihk.to nature paths and pic- nic grounds.
