Mrs.. Gerald Agar was Ilea-

of the Staffa Women's Institute
held in her home on Wednes-
day afternoon of last week, -
Highlight of the meeting was
the exchange of gifts with
"secret pals" and°the discovery
of who. one's secret pal was,
Mrs. Carter Kerslake presid-
ed • and opened the meeting
Riith the Institute Ode and
Mary Stewart Collect. She com-
mented on. the motto, "Keeping
Christmas is good; sharing it is
better." Nineteen members and
visitors answered the ,roll call,
" Your Favourite Christmas.
Flower," and everyone display-
.ed...a_.Christmas gift which they
had received.
The topic was pot -luck with
everyone contributing, with
many interesting •and appropri-
ate reading, etc., enjoyed. Busi-
ness was discussed and. it was
agreed to again hold card par-
ties throughout the winter in
Staffa Township Hall, the first
one to be held early in Janu-
ary, with Mrs. Garnet Taylor's
group responsible for , arrange-
ments.
The 4-H leaders' ` training
school for stile next project is
'to be held in Mitchell, Jan. 1.1
and 12,•• A: training course on
"Vegetables With a .Flair," is
to be held in Mitchell on Jan.
27 and- -28;: and' Mrs. Gerald

decorated•chair and had to fol-
low the string to find her gifts.
She thanked the girls for a
most delightful' evening -and for
the lovely gifts given to her,
and, to Gwen ander Arlene for
their work in preparing the.

lic School, of Burlington,' of
which Miss Finlayson is a
member, also presented her
with a lovely blue glass com-
port dish at a gathering there.
Mrs. Arthur Finlayson held a
tea at her home Dec. 30th. Serv-
ing the guests were Mrs. Mack
McLean, and assisting in the
kitchen, were Mrs. George Var-
ley and Mrs. Erie Matzold. Dis-
playing the gifts were Diane
Finlayson, and the bride's lin-
ens and trousseau, Janice Eyre.
