40 Take Part In
Discussion Groups
(Contributed)
Between 35 and 40 perSons of
Saint Ambrose Wrish have been
taking part in discussion groups
for about fi•ve weeks. The pur-
pose of the pregraM is the up-
dating of the Faith .in each
home in the Paiish. The pre-
sent condition of the Faith itt
being discovered and realized
fer the first time. Views are
being aired and siggestions are
being made to restore the Faith
to the proper place in life.
This part of -the program will
close this week with the fifth
discussion,. Now plans are be-
ing made to have a Mass cele-
brated in one of the private
homes after Christmas. This
would be attended by the group
leaders and their husbands or
wives. After the Mass the pro-
gram Renewal '69 will be asses-
sed, both the negative and pos-
itive aspects. Suggestions and
proposals for the future will be
accepted. Mrs. James" Ryan, the
Renewal co-ordinator, also an-
nounces tentative plans to have
the entire group participate in
an Eucharistic Celebration oth-
er than Sunday Mass. At this
function all will receive com-
munion under the forms of
both Bread and Wine. Present
discipline calls for the faithful
to receive the Bread only, while
Christ is present, Whole and en-
tire, under the. appearance of
HENSALL
Dr, Mervyn Hopkinson, Lion's
Head, visited on Wednesday
with Mr. and Mrs. Norman
Cook.
Lynne and Paul Dodds of
Seaforth are visiting with their
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sim
Roobol.
The personnel manager,
checking the job references of
an applicant, asked the man's
former employer if he was a
steady worker.
"Steady?" came the reply.
"Why he was practically motion-
less."
either Bread or Wine. The re-
ceiving of the Chalice in this
setting will add to the signifi-
cance of the Eucharist as the
sign. of Christian Unity. "
Rene.Wal '60 has left its im-
pressions in St. _Ambrose Par-
ish. Some of those involved are
interested in continuing some
form of discussion group for a
number of reasons. There IS
need of learning more about
our religion; growth in under-
standing and toleration; prob-
lems of different kinds need
solving; and there is always pre-
sent the need of developing a
social sense among parishioners.
An example of a continuing pro-
gram would be the Christian
Family Movement known as
C.F.M.
