During the day the girls par- ticipated in judging and pre- sented a pro -gram of demonstra- tions, skits and exhibits. The reeord books and work complet- ed during the past season by club members were displayed. W. L. Crowle, a researcher at the Canada Department of Ag- riculture's Saskatoon Research Station, has screened more than 100 varieties Of foreign wheat over the past three -years. . So far he's found wheats that yield about -100 bushels an acre under high fertility and irrigat- ion. fested One variety of Mex- ican 'wheat that will outyield Manitou by a third on .both dry and irrigated plots. But this variety has relatively low bread - making quality.
