Mr. and Mrs. Wilber Keyes,
Seaforth, celebratetheir 40th
wedding anniversary on Sun-
day. They were entertained by
their family t� a dinner at Tig-
er Dunlop Inn, Goderich. Din-
ing with them were more than
40 guests including .brothersand
sisters and a few neighbors.
.Miss Annie Durnin, Lucknow
and Stuart Keyes, Orillia, who
were bridesmaid and grooms-
man respectively at, the wed-
ding 40 years ago, were present
at the dinner.
Mr. Stuart Keyes acted as mas-
ter of ceremonies and follbw-
ing a toast to the bride, all were
entertained by a number of in-
teresting, humorous impromp-
tu speeches.
Later the bride and groom
led the way to their home 6n
the Mill Road where all joined
in a social afternoon, followed
by lunch.
The couple was married Oct..
27th, 1928 at the home of the
bride's sister, Goderich ToWn-
%ship, with over fifty guests pre-
sent and Rev. Penrotse, pastor
of Varna Methodist Church offi-
ciating.
Mrs. 'Keyes was foiniefi:y Eun-
ice Reid and prior to her mar-
riage taught school in Stanley
Township.
Mr. and Mrs. Keyes settled in
Stanley but soon realized there
was a greater opportunity for
work in Tuckersmith, so in the
spring of 1929 they moved to
the farm on Mill Road where
they now reside. They have a
family of three, Merton, Ruth
and Stuart, all married. Merton
ai.,1 Elsie reside on their farm
on the Mill Road.
Ruth and Morris Carter _are
at. 307 Leinster St., Woodstock.
Mr. Carter is principal of Hick-
son .and sorrounding _area
schools. Stuart and Qail -live at
41 Clarence St., Brampton.
Mr. and Mrs. Keyes have six
grandchildren, Linda and Mark
Carter, Woodstock, Glen. Car-
olyn, David and Brenda Keyes.

autumn ceremony at two o'clock,
October 12, 1968 at St. Ambrose
Roman Catholic Church, Bruss-
els. The bride is the daughter
of 'Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Grob-
-bink of R. R. 3, Brussels and the
groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Lawerence Ryan of R. R. 4 Wal-
ton. John G. Mooney performed
the double ring ceremony and
celebrated the nuptial mass.
Cousins of the groom from
Woodstock, Rosemary, Fred, El-
izabeth, Pat, Monica and Dorothy

Louis Phelan was organist. '
The -bride, given, in marriage
by her father, wore a long sleev-
ed, peau de faille gown enhan-
ced with scrolled lace and bead,
trim. A court train fell from the
Edwarian yolk styled back. The
gown had a princess style skirt.

Catherine Grobbink of Scar-
boro was, her sister's maid of
honor. The bridesmaids were
Emma Grobbink of Walton and
Teresa Ryan of London. They
wore floor -length gowns of new
gold crepe with a bow trimmed

gth sleevq.- Gold braid wen -
twined in each girl's hairdo.
The.flowergirl, Mary and Lynn
Van Nes of Ethel wore a floor
length dresS of white crepe with
long Sleeves and lace trim. She
wore a white boWheadpiece.
All the girls carried bouquets of
yellciW shastas daisies. Michael
Ryan of Walton was ringbearer.
• Nelson' Ryan of Walton was
bestman for -his brother. The
ushers were Henry Grobbink and
Gerald'Ryan, both of Walton.
. The wedding dinner was held
in the church basement and a

in Cranbrook Community Cen-
tre in -the evening.

guests in a two piece coffee
brown suit with gold leathered

The grooms mother assisted in

and black accessories. Her cor-
sage was of white and silver car-

For travelling to Northern
Ontario the bride wore an old
rose coloured A-line dress with
long sleeves,and piping and gold
military -style buttons down the
front. Her , accessories were

The Seaforth Planhing Board will hold.a Public Meeting at the Town Hall, Thursday,
November 7, 1968, at 8 p.m., to present to the ratepayers of the Community future, plan-
ning proposals for the Town of Seaforth.
The purpose of this meeting will be to outline and explain a proposed zoning by-law,
and to invite your comments or suggestions.
Copies of the p-lpose:d zoning by-law may be viewed at the Town Clerk's Office.
The purpose of the zoning by-law is to proyide a compreherisive document to guide
and direct future growth in a logical and orderly manner and to attempt to correct
the errors of past development to ensure a resulting healthy growth pattern which will
benefit all the residents of the Planning Area. Come to tne Meeting and feel free
to ask any questions pertaining to this proposal. ,
