DEAR DORIS
advice from
Doris Clark
•
• My INCENTIVE IS GONE
DEAR DORIS - My wonder-
ful wife passed away three
months ago. Slowly I am pick.
Ing up the pieces. We have
reorganized our routines, with
my boy and girl taking on din-
ners and dishes, and all of us
doing the shopping together at
night.
But I am a salesman, which
takes some self-starting. Not
only that but to sell ' things a
person has to, be enthusiastic.
I'm sorry to say I have lost
confidence in myself.
Now 1 'realize that Ruth's
interest a n d encouragement
were like the gasoline in an,
engine,
' No Sale
DEAR NO SALE - What
you don't realize is that you
are in a state of shock. You
have tried to catch the ball and
keep running without even
stopping for breath. You can't
just adjust all" the physical ar-
rangements and have done
with it.
The very depths of you have
been shaken and need time and
solace. Give yourself time.
Try now to regain confi-
dence by remembering all the
faith Ruth had in you. If You
valued her belief in you when,
you could talk .to her, do you
discount it now?
DEAR DORIS - I am 14.
My parents both .• work and I
have an older brother and.
younger sister.
cook super, vacuum, do
dishes morning, noon and night,
iron clothes and many more
things. On top of this I have to
keep my grades high. For this
I get an allowance of $1.25 a
week.
I never get a thank you,-
• which „I would like to •hear.
How can I get them to appreci-
ate\my work?

DEAR DORIS - According

decided that we are not to see
each other anymore.,
I just can't continue as if I
never met him. I love him and
to show my love I feel I must

I know other families must
have to face these same tribu-
lations, but how are the debts
to be met? Ile. didn't consult
anyone when he was deciding,

Debt counselling could help
