Reeve Dalton reported for
the public 'works committee and
said the committee recommend-
ed the acceptance of the tender
of D. It. Wood for $7,986.00 cov-
ering town hall heating instal-
lation.
There continued to be Prob-
lems in having the engineer
complete work on the Silver
Creek drain although details
had now gone forward to the
CNR concerning work required
at the junction of the CNR and
the river. Council approved pay-
• ment of $3,000 to Robert Nich-
olson Construction on account
of the Silver Creek drain and
$7,045 to Durham Stone and
Paving for work done on streets
earlier this year.
In other business council re-
ferred to the public works com-
mittee a request from Mrs.
Grace Kirag, 67 Ord St. for work
on a drain and from M. •Vin:.
cent, 25 Goderieh- St., for
changes in boulevard entrance.

Units to form a district which
would have surveillance over at
least 100,000 people — produc-
ing 29 districts instead of' 50
health units in the Province. He
said that Huron County (50,-
000 population) and Perth Coun-
ty, had been recommended for
amalgamation, which he favor-
ed.
