The October meeting will be held on the 15th at the home of Mrs. Fred Buchanan, with all ladies invited. A life membership pin was presented to Mrs, Jim Medd by Mrs. Bill Dale with Mrs. Frank *Riley reading the address. Mrs. Frank Riley turned the meeting over to Mrs. George Mellwain for the devotional. Prayer and a reading on "Love" was given, followed by scripture taken from Galatian 6 and med- itation. A quiz on "Mothers of the Bible" was conducted. Mr. and Mrs. Simon Dyk of -Galt spent a few days this past week with their daughter and, son-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Bert Haverkanip and family. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Van der .Molan, Paul, Mark and Margie of Oakville spent the weekend with the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Whyte and fainily. Council Meets Defer BRUCEFIELD The Brucefield UCW met in the Church auditorium Sunday evening with music by Mrs. Mc- Gregor at the organ. ,Mrs. J. Henderson, president, 'opened the meeting with a meditation on Thanksgiving. "Sing to the Lord of Harvest" was sung. Betty Graham read several passages from the old testament and led in prayer and Mrs. Treibner read a poem, "Thanksgiving is for Everyone". Mrs. E. Thompson, Mrs. C. Henderson received the offer- ing and :the junior choir girls sang "Keep Singing". Mrs.- Ross Chapman, Mrs. John McGregor and Mrs. Tomp- kins presented a skit showing the many, many pined thank - offering money is spent and the many more opportunities which are open to our churches to do good. Mrs. Fred McGregor and Mrs., George Henderson sang a duet and Mrs. Alex McBeath closed the program with a poem "I Give My Thanks". He was alone in his car and there were appar- ently, no witnesses, the coroner said. Provincial • ponce from the Goderich detachment said they had not • determined the cause of the accident. The youth is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gysbert Vanderharr of RR 2, Bayfield, and three brothers, Douglas, Fred and Donald, all at home. The funeral was held at 2 p.m. today at the Christian Re- formed Church, Clinton. Bnrial was in Clinton Cemetery.
