' Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Ahrens spent the weekend at Burling- ton with Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ahrens and family and Messrs. Robert and Kenneth Ahrens. They also visited Mr. and Mt% Clayton Carlton at ,Wilson, New York. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Sholdice, Paul, Mark and Judy were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lex Wil - Dublin CWL. Meets' Dublin CWL met Monday evening in the Parish Hall with 69 present. Due to educational • entertainment, 12 teenagers were present. • .Miss Joanne Elligsen, Water- loo University, formerly of SDHS showed slides of her trip to the UN, New York City. The, president, Mrs. Bob Cronin read about the slogan poster contest, open to all in- terested. The secretary, Mrs. George Coville read some of the reso- lutions passed MI the members present at the recent conven- tion held in Sarnia. Mrs. Joseph Shea read pas- sages from "Renewal '69'. Fr. Durand spoke at length about further changes in the liturgy of the church. While lunch was being serv- ed, Miss Joanne Elligsen and Paul Horan played a medley of duets. News of the W eek in Constance• Mn and Mrs. Stewart Cham- -3ers of Toronto visited the past week with Mrs. Ella. Jewitt and Mrr. ,,and Mrs. Douglas Kim and Greg of Mai spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Riley. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hart and family of ' Clinton visited on Saturday evening with Mr. and Pars. Fned Buchanan and fitra- Sy. Mr. W. J. - Dale was judging . the horse show at • Wyoming. Fair on Saturday and at BlYth Establish New Record The biggest fair in Western Ontario's history is over and the Western Fair officials ut- tered a sigh of relief and satis- faction knowing that 445,942 people thoroughly enjoyed '• themselves at the first nine day fair in 101 years' history. Now the Western Fair is:cleaning up and preparing for the Fall Race Meet that starts September 27th and runs to November 9th. - Part of the Western Fair busi- ness still to be completed is the Car. Draw. Some lucky ticket holders have yet to 'claim their I brand new 1968 Chevrolets. Ac- cording to the Fair Board rules and regulations the ticket hold- ers have until 12:00 noon Sep- , tember 30th to claim their cars. 66 In the event no one claims, the right to the car is forfeited. 1 'The lucky ticket numbers are: Sunday, 011007; Monday, 021590; Tuesday, 108437; Wednesday, 142520. The Brodhagen Nifty Needles met at the home of Mrs. Don; aid Brown with nine members present. The group discussed “making a 'design" and learned the blanket stitch, «The Mem- bers started to work on their projects in order to study their stitches.
