DEAR PATIENT -- Physio-
therapy: "The treatment of dis-
eases with aid a physical ag-

inition for that which is, ;at its
hest, a new way of life for the
recipients!
DEAR DORIS -- 1 am shy. I
think the boy I like is slightly
shy too, so you see I'm getting
nowhere.
Once of twice when,' thought
of something to say to him, he
acted very friendly, so rm sure
if I could only make him feel
I was interested in him every-
thing would be okay.
I find this with other boys
too — that they won't make a
move unless they are sure you
like them.

Shrinking Violet
DEAR SHRINKING .Boys
can be painfully shy, and that's
for sure, They dread the idea
of a rebuff. Many a friendship
dies a-borning while everybody
waits for the other fellow to
take the first step.
A girl can learn to give a
gracious sign of interest; boy
can summon courage to take a
chance and ask for a •date.
Practice is the thing.
My len-cent leaflet, "Don't
Be Shy", is on its way. Read it
and wade in.

DEAR DORIS — I'm very
'happy with my work set-up,
make my own decisions, work
with several professional boss-
es. All I have is myrgrade 12.
My work pleases them all,
but this saying certainly ap
plies to me:. "She knows her
work but can't explain it so
that another person on grasp
it." I do my work and person-
nel watch. This way they learn
by seeing.
If I try to explain with no
actual work, it is all lost. Is
there a remedy for this? Would
public speaking classes help?
Poor Explainer
DEAR POOR — Teaching is
a skill allits own. It's not so
much having 'a, degree as hav-
ing a talent for teaching, but
public' speakingclasses would
give you some ease with ,words.
Today the best teaching is
accompanied with action and
demonstration. This is follow-
ed by putting the learner
through his paces so' that he
actually- learns by' doing. Such
routines are far more effective
than the lecture method alone.
So you are out in front when
it comes to meth6d. Don't let
all those graduates intimidate
yen They don't mean to.

one more complication.
It's tough enough raising a

your husband's co-operation in
taking a firm stand and stick-

Correspondence included cour-

Kong. Plans were finalized to
sponsor a bus to the Royal Win-

may contact Mrs. Ken Stewart or
Mrs. Leonard Strong in the near
future. Cook Books are selling
well and are still available from
members or at Irvin's Hardware
store.
The program, convened by
Mrs. A. Turnbull and Mrs. L.
Carter on Agriculture and Can-
adian Industries, was chaired by
Mrs. Turnbull, who read a poem,
"Second Thoughts". The motto
"We. are never too 'old to learn
if we aren't toe stubborn to try"
was ably commented on by Mrs.
Carter.
The guest speaker, Mrs. Don
Glousher of Blyth, was introduc-
'ed by Mrs. Turnbull and thank-
ed by Mrs. Carter. Mrs. Gloush-
er demonstrated Japenese em-
broidery, a most interesting
hobby, and showed several fin-
ished articles. If enough are in-
terested, a night 'class for this
project may. be held this win-
ter at Clinton.
Mrs. Glousher also demonstra-
ted the hooking of rugs, showing
mock shading, real shading, dif-
ferent types of dyeing, etc. and
closed her demonstration with
a poem, .4'Husband's Lament".
,Courtesy remarks were made
by Mrs. L. Carter. The roll call
"A Famous Person born on the
Farm", was answered by a large
number of members, with sev-
eral visitors also present.
