The WAIS of Cannel Presby-
terian Church met Monday eve-
ning with vice-president Mrs.
George Walz presiding who
opened the meeting with a poem
"Count Your Blessings". he de-
votional and study was given
by Mrs. Rochus Faber and Mrs.
Archie Hoggarth. Members re-
ported having made 19 visits to
sick and shut-ins and new com-
ers. A minute silence of prayer
vas observed for the two mem-
bers who passed away since the
June meeting, Mrs. Stewart
McQueen and Mrs. peter (El-
eanor) McKenzie. Devotion and
study for October will be giv-
en by Mrs. Gordon Troyer and
Mrs. Clarence Volland, The
Ladies' Aid met for a brief busi-
ness meeting with president,
Mrs. Harvey Hyde in the chair.

The agreements provide for
the availability of corn during
various delivery periods, which
will make large quantities of
corn available to the trade. A
Minimum price of Us!) per
bushel was established as policy
by the OFU convention last
year.
Walter Miller, President of the
OFU says that farmers are pre-
pared to do everything in their
Power to look after themselves;
but there are certain matters,
that are government responsibil-
ity to clear the way for this.
He said a meeting has been re-
quested with the Federal Minis-
ter of Agriculture and other
cabinet ministers concerned, to
place before -them a documenta-
tion of requirements necessary
to -put corn -growing ea -an econ-
omical basis.
"The depressed prices caused
• by cheap U.S. imports and in-
creased costs of production of
the last number of years resulted
in heavy losses to corn growers
and immediate action is a must"
he said. "Our members are will-
ing to accept certain imports of
corn from the U.S. to fill our
domestic shortage only, but
these _imports should not be
parlilcoewsed--
. to effect domestic corn

gaining for this year's crop, and
