purchased from the 1VIcKil1op Municipal Telephone System,
in the_Seaforth and Clinton exchanges. • •
Three hundred and fifty thousand feet of cable, the
equivalent of sixty-seven miles, will be buried in the next
few weeks, with an additional two hundred and sixty-five
thousand feet of buried wire, will also be ploughed, This in -
eludes run offs buried .up to the subscribers home' amount-
ing to fifty miles.
The cosi' one thousand dollars for every twenty-four
feet, or an overall cost of $240,000, 75% of which- is for the
buried cable and wire alone.
The plough and jts crew are scheduled to place some
ten -fifteen thousand feet each day. '
• This method of placing cable results in lower costs,
less maintenance Costs, and less interruption of service dur-
ing summer and winter storms.

tion the second phase of removing standing poles and wire
will commence. In all some twenty-nine hundred poles and
associated aerial wire will come Own to improve the land-

Look' for the plough and our Bell Telephone crews
working along your road and in your laneway.
Ask them about their job, they will be pleased to. tell
you of the operation to provide you better service.
