Logan Council Meets
Despite Blackout
And then the lights went out
but not until Logan Council
managed• to finish much of the
business on the agenda.
The power failure resulting
from the Tuesday night storm
last week forced curtailment of
the meeting but council passed
•a by-law providing for the erec-
tion of right-of-way signs on all
side roads entering concession
roads.
Council also received the first
payment of the residential prop-
erty tax reduction grant — a
total of $11,071.
A petition for a municipal
drain affecting lots 7 and 8,
con. 12, and one for a repair
and improvement to the Bode -
Drain were received and the
Clerk was instructed to notify
James A. Howes, 0.L.S., to
study the situation.
The contract for the open por-
tion of the Horn Drain was
awarded to R. Nicholson for
$2,260 and• the closed portion
to Cook Bros., for $7,500 with
the Township supplying all
tile and pipe. R. Nicholson was
also awarded the contract for
the open portion of the Van
