Mr. Paul Sims of Exeter, was
a weekend guest with Mr. and
Mrs. William Kerr and family,

The rites of Holy Baptism was
administered to the following
infants at Carrael Presbyterian
Church Sunday morning: Wil-
liam Terry, son of Mr. and Mrs.
John McGregor; •Donna •Mae,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rob-
ert Taylor; Janet Ruth, 'laugh
ter of Mr. and Mts. Al Hoggarth,
whose grandparent, Mr. and
Mrs. Ashard of England were
present for the occasion. Rev.
J. C. Boyne officiated at the
christening and delivered the
message. Margaret and -Norma
Hyde sang a duet. Flowers in
the sanctuary were in memory
of Mr. and Mrs. Basil Edwards,
placed by , their niece, Mrs. M.
Johnston, St. Catharines.
Mr. and Mrs. Karl Haslip and
family, Burlington, visited last
week with Mrs. Eric Kennedy
and Mr. Ira Geiger.
WILLIAM S. SHEPHERD
Willianx S. Shepherd of Hen-
sall, passed away at the Blue;
waier Rest Home, Zurich, Friday °
evening, August 2nd. He was
82. Mr. Shepherd was a veteran
of World War One, a member
of the HensalI Branch of the
Royal Canadian Legion 468,
member of the 100F Lodge •223,
Hensall.
Surviving are two son% Jack,
London; Donald, Hensall; two
daughters, Margaret, Mrs,' Jack
Consitt, RR 1, Hensall; Barbara,
Mrs. A. L. Birosh, Lake St'Den-
ise, Quebec and seven grandchil-
dren. Mrs, Shepherd passed
away in March of this year.
Public funeral services were
held on Monday, August 5th,
from the Benthron funeral
home, conducted by Rev. J. C.
Boyne. Burial was in MeTag-
gart's cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harry Hot. -
ton, 'Sam Dougall, Ed: Munn,
Fred Beer, E. R. Davis and Earl
Rowe. Members of the Legion
held a service at the funeral
home.

Mr. and Mrs. Bradford R. Smith
and Kerry Dwight Campbell,
second son of Mr. and Mrs. Wil-
liam G. Campbell. Officiating
clergymen were Rev. Father
Laragh and Rev. J. C. Britton,
Northside United Church.

Sinclair who sang "The Wed-
ding Prayer" and "0 Perfect

Given in marriage by her
father, the bride was lovely in
an A-line floor -length gown of
white chiffon Over taffeta with
a yolk of French eyelet thread-
ed with pink streamers which

fell gracefully down the back.
Her shoulder -length veil of silk
illusion was accented with
seed pearls and tear -drops and
she carried a crescent bouquet
of white roses and stephanotis.
Miss Jane Boshart Was maid
of honor and Miss Katrina Logs-
don, Port Huron, Mich., was ker
aunt's flower girl. , They wore
identical semi -fitted gowns of
pale pink fortrel trimmed with
rows of white daisies and car;
ried bouquets of star burst
poms,
Karl Campbell was his broth-
er's groomsman and Stuart
Fletcher, Kitchener, cousin of
the -groom acted as ring,bearer.
The guests were fishered by the
bride's brother, Charles Smith
and Douglas Wright of Barrie.

MRS. REBECCA REBECCA JOHNSTON
Mrs. Rebecca Johnston, wid-
ow of the late Silas Johnston of
Walton, passed away at Huron -
view ,on July 16 in her 88th
year.
She was the daughter of the
late Alex Forrest and Annie Bell
and after her marriage, farmed
on the first Concession of Mor-
ris. In .1913 the family Moved to
the Widton community where
they farmed on the 16th Con-,
cession o.Grey until they re-
tired to -Walton in the 1930's.
She was a life long member
of the Walton United Church
and, the Women's organizations
of the church. For a groat num-
ber of years she taught the
primary class in the Sunday
School.
She leaves a family Of three

sons, Harvey of Clinton; liert of
Goderieh; and jimes',Of Essex;
eight grandchildren; and six-
teen great-grandchildren; one
sister, Mary, Mrs. Martin Kerr
of Burt, IMichigan; and a, num-
ber of nephews and h4ee5s.
The funeral was held on July
19 from the D. A. Rann funeral
home at Brussels .with Rev.
Grant Mills of the Clinton Unit-
ed Church in charge of the ser-
vice. Burial was in the Brussels
,
cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles
Johnston, Carl Johnston, Ken-
neth Johnston, William Pea-
cock, Herbert Traviss and Ken-
neth McDonald.

Prior to her Marriage the
bride was honored at parties at
the home of 14rs. Gerry Cronin,
Dublin and Mrs. Enos Boshart.
Mr. and Mrs. Willianx Campbell
entertained the bridal party fol-
lowing the wedding rehearsal.
